Arabia is totally changed, too wide open, from 50 maps generated in most of them only one woodline and really far, i am not liking it.

Spec chat isn't working.

One guy reported that the way to skip the time penalization is by joining to a friends game through steam invite to remove the time punishment, without restarting the game.

Ok they didn't write it properly, spec chat isn't the one we used for years in voobly, what they meant is that they made players chat visible while watching a rec and spectating lmao

I wonder if there are safeguards against false positives with the new Alt-F4 punishment, like when an innocent player has to Alt-F4 because the game froze or something.

This is the best patch we have had so far. Super happy that I can now see ingame chat from players while spectating (it's been 2 bloody years), and the queue dodging fix was long overdue.

Pathfinding​

• Lumberjacks no longer rarely turn idle after gathering a tree’s resources to completion and will attempt to gather from another nearby tree as expected.

^I assume this means this will no longer become "rare" and instead happen even more frequently /s

Why?

Because balance changes are partly driven by community demand. And one of the bigger demands is making the Militia line viable as a standard army composition. Byzantines getting free Town Patrol is another example of community driven balance changes. So are buffs to Cavalry Archers. I'll admit I'm one of the players who wanted free Town Patrol for Byzantines and Militia line buffs. Though I also admit I'm not happy that they happened through a democratic (for lack of a better phrase) process, because it's inevitable we'll eventually get some really bad changes the developers will push onto the game only because enough forum warriors shouted louder than everyone else.

Does the penalty apply to resigns after the game starts? From what is written in the patch notes it seems like they haven't even considered the possibility..... 2 years to solve this and as expected it is half baked.

Edit: It seems timeout applies to instant resigns too. Maybe add this info in the issues notes??? I think the first few days are gonna be crazy with lot of instant resigning but should stabilize.

Ah, don't worry! Increasing the window for the Alt-F4 penalty to a few minutes of in-match time will surely fix that problem right up! Surely, it won't just cause dodgers to wait a few minutes before quitting the game, thereby wasting everyone's time even more. Surely!

They have "fixed" this multiple times, to no avail. hopefully this time it's actually true but I doubt it

That sounds so disastrously stupid that I want to see it happen, just to see what would happen. Something like that is not beyond DE's development team either. But the downside to this is that it would take, like, 2 years before half of it gets implemented lmao.

Hmmm, I wonder how this is going to affect matchmaking with Alt-F4 also now artificially raising and lowering ELO? If there's one upside to this, maybe all of the rank manipulation means that one day some fan of the top 10 players gets to face off against one of his favorites without having the skill to truly be placed at that high of a rank 11.

Changing the nick to avoid the punishment is the only option, i got 3 strikes, cause the guys i got teamed dropped and then resigned in the next game, so i tried to avoid them in the third game 11
