I saw other nations hold tournament to determine who the best player for their country is (pretty cool idea). Would there be any interest from US players to play in a US cup and any to see who the best all-around player from US is?

Someone correct me If I'm wrong, but aren't there many Americans playing on steam? Also, the percentage of US DMers is very high compared to other countries. It would be interesting to watch both a RM and DM cup(2 different cups, in case I wasn't clear).

I always hear about these old experts that would own everyone. Even Ra achieved 2k3+ in those days and now he is struggling to get above 195+ :D. I mean even terror reached 23+ back then as well. The old experts were never really experts. just old
Hasan would make u look npl on ara

the problem with usa is that the players are very one dimensional. we have only a hand full of decent players and most are 1 map players. But in my opinion a good tournament model is Arabia, hm, hm, Islands, Rf/arena, nomad/ln. this gives a good range of water, land, boom, no-tc to get a real sense of what player is well rounded instead of what player has the time to practice some obscure map that no one actually plays like all the new tournaments. (dm could get added to for usa it makes sense)

tbh though no ones going to be interested without a prize and not many people will likely donate to a tournament of the weakest region in aoc.
The best way to see who is best regionally is to petition tournaments like WSVG that does the brackets nationally, regionally then world at the end, its by far the coolest way though not the fairest to the strong regions.
