Hi, what would you guys think of having more civ-unique buildings in the game? This could be an interesting way to offer more on balance settings and civ design. Same as the goths were the only civ with 2 unique techs and now each civ has 2 as well, could the same be done with unique buildings?
Right now only the Portuguese Feitoria and the Bulgarian Krepost are such. These buildings are designed to be an integral part of their civ's gameplay and offer new ways (not standard) to play them. If the general feeling is that a civ lacks on identity and/or balance could an argument be made that it should be given a unique building to compensate?
Ideally these new buildings should really feel unique in the bonuses they give, not just providing a resource trickle or a castleless unique unit like the existing ones, but this is another topic for discussion.
So what is your opinion on this possibility? Could it be balanced in arabia, water, dm, teamgames etc? I know the state of the game is not the best it can be right now, and I am not proposing this as way to cover up the usefulness of melee or any other current issue, let's just review it as a possibility.
