UK Championship I - Overview & Central Hub

Welcome to the overview and central hub for the UK Championship I. Competitors in this event will find everything needed in this topic.

The first round of the tournament (RO16) will be a Single Elimination BO3 to determine the top 8. The QF and onwards will then proceed as a double elimination event.

Participants should go to the home maps tab and follow the two links to download the WSVG maps and the UltraRandom maps so they have all the home maps.

From the Winner's and Loser's bracket round 2 and onwards where you may choose more than 1 home map, you may only choose each map once. Also note that Huns cannot be picked if Arabia is chosen as home map, since G1 is always Dry Ara huns.

It is obviously a big part with the first game of each match, but I don't think it's too much. Especially considering the variety in home maps, and that it is the most played setting in 1v1. (Not a fan of this where some maps no one ever plays or cares about end up featuring heavily in tournaments).

What I think I will do is ban huns from being picked if arabia is chosen as home map since we already saw ara huns in G1.

mhm its hard to say, ofc there are a lot of ara huns fan out there - but on the other hand i think there are even more ara huns "hater", not talking about other maps...

IMO the best solution, even better than hidden civ pick (cause we see this in all the big tournaments), would be random mirror civs, cause it gives you a much bigger variety (civ and strat wise ofc) and you dont only see scouts into archers and CA or drush fc CA if you have a good map...

So I'd like to see:

Game 1 - WSVG_Dry_Arabia - random mirror civs
Game 2 - Loser of G1 home map - hidden civs
Game 3 - Winner of G1 home map - hidden civs

But then again, its only me. I wish you good luck for the tournament, hope to see a lot of those streamed!!

I don't think so, I reckon there's a good 4-5 x as many ara huns games as there are random mirror. Would be nice to get the finals streamed at least and as many of the others as possible.
