Hey everyone. It's my understanding that the relationship between trade distance and gold yield is exponential rather than linear (that is, a market that's twice as far away will provide more than twice as much gold). This is why it's important to trade across the entire length of the map – the further the markets are from each other, the more efficient the trade route will be.
My question is, does overall map size factor into this? For instance, will a trade route across the whole length of an 8-player map be more efficient than one that spans a 4-player map? Or is this corrected for, so that a trade distance of 30 squares (say) is more efficient on the smaller map than on the larger map?
The reason I ask is that if map size doesn't factor into the equation, this would suggest that the optimum number of trade carts per player would be much higher in 2v2s than in 4v4s.
