Why do towers with fletching not reach the repair villager of mangonels as they did in voobly? All the balance changes they have been doing and this has not been addressed. Why?

A tower with fletching could reach the repair villager of a mangonel in voobly 100%.

Then go ahead and post a clip of this behaviour in aoc. It's possible that there were some changes with WK or userpatch, but at least in those the current behaviour already existed, very sure. On top of that why should it even be changed again?

I think that a tower with fletching can reach the repair villager in DE aswell. The problem is the 'height' of the mangonel doesn't allow for direct hits on the vill. Similar to the ram.
Imo this behaviour wasn't changed between Voobly WK and DE, if ever.

This is an intended mechanic, has nothing to do with the range but as @The_Philos said, there's a height mechanic that prevents arrows from flying over the object so you can hide behind. The same mechanic is used for the new bohemian unit as well.

On voobly about 50% of arrows were blocked by the mangonel when targeting the repair vill, on DE its more like 95% of arrows. This is a well known difference that people have been complaining about for years, lol.

Feels to me like the tower does hit the villager each time the mangonel moves forward to shoot? Would make sense in that case at least.

nope, you can clearly see that the vill can still be hit often when both vill and mangonel are stationary

What? It's 100%. The arrows can never shoot through the mangonel and hit the villager, as the hitbox of the mangonel is in the way. The only way those arrows could hit the villager is if the villager was to the side of the mangonel instead of behind

when i tested it 2 years ago with myers I remembered the occasional arrow hitting the vil on DE but maybe i'm remembering it wrong. Either way the difference between DE and voobly on this issue is really obvious

They just came out with another update a few days ago and did not address this. These devs useless or what? Do they even read these posts?

I don't think the devs think this is a bug, and therefore aren't changing it

I don't think they actually can address it, since it's probably linked to the slightly different hitbox or projectile behaviour in DE.

I think they probably can, since they had the ability to change the damage of arrows that go OVER a hussite wagon and hit units behind, I just don't think it's seen as a bug

at least they added the feature to feel like you are in a fast proxy game from voobly everytime you hit imperial age

Yes they did.

They also did that in normal AOE2, prior to UP.

Them being unable to hit is a DE "feature" aka bug.

The devs are incapable of fixing basic things like building hitboxes preventing targeting of villagers, or normal AOE2 right click function without adding additional input buttons. I can only imagine the bugs that would be introduced by fixing this.
