Throwback to good ol' times

Hey folks,

now since DE overtook the whole competitive scene and the narrative of the community kind of followed and Voobly getting buried, we can share some funny, exciting(drama) or just random moments to keep it here alive on Aoezone.

So maybe post a story, a picture or just some memories. Shall it be an anecdote or just a "I remember". I will begin...

Do you remember the time arround 2014 when streaming was getting big within AoC? Like pre-sellout times.
Yeah exactly at this time a small underground streamer and ambitious Team Islands player started streaming.

Bulletchen: Passed out drunk 2015 (colorized) on a 24H stream. Myths tell he still sleeping on his Pc dreaming of Team Islands Vikings.

I made a screenshot and it survived 5 years on my Pc.

Another one: 2014/2015 back then when @FeAge was streaming he had no wallpaper. (when there were no fancy overlays). And he asked his viewers to make one for him. This was my commission of the selection.

Honestly...I cant understand why he didn't choose mine...

Curious where this topic will go. Don't have any screens but have more than a few stories. Not sure how fun they are for ones not involved though.

My favorite one is a game I played vs @Nicov some years ago. It was a Huns war of course on Arabia. He trushed me pretty much everywhere he could in response to his bad map, I defended. I was in Feudal Age a bit too long and he hit Castle Age before me. So basically I was behind in this game and Nicov must've been annoyed somewhere that I wasn't resigning (we both knew where the game was gonna lead for sure). At one point he raided me with around I think it was 10 knights which destroyed around 80% of economy, then to finish me off he sent around 10 vills to make what I thought was a castle. So I was trying real hard to stop it and survive but when it went up, it was a TC instead 11. I wasn't even annoyed at the humiliation, I found it really funny since I never clicked the building, there's no other building you'd make in that spot. We both laughed pretty hard and I got the message and resigned.


Second story is courtesy of @_Ra_ when I fell hard from 2250 or around there. Slam, Hasan, and Ra were all above 2200 (I remember some calling us the 2200 family since we all hung out together). So one day I logged in, was barely 2100, and immediately popped up a message from Ra saying, "What are you doing down there?" I didn't understand what he meant so I was like, "Huh?". Then his response was, "Your rating is so low I had a hard time finding you on the list."


A last one for now is that I have a friend who knew the password to my nick and one of my old friends. So one day he changed both our account names. He changed his to Bouncyball (it is still there in the account as previous names too 11) then changed mine. So for those who don't know, my name is Alex but he for some reason liked calling me Alice instead. So I woke up one day and logged in, then I saw my account displayed as A_lice_hair. He thought the changes was the funniest stuff and said his throat was hurting from the laughter. And my friend said to him he's completely changing his pw, but the "change" to his account was just adding one more letter to end of his nick because of his memory 11.

Definitely have a lot of fun memories playing this game.

Edit: With the Nicov story as I see I didn't write it the way I should, his TC drop was infront of my TC, which made it funnier.

Apparently I have screens and even the game vs Nicov I was talking about. Didn't think to check before since I thought it died with my old hd, but somehow it is on here.

It was in a pack I posted on ror forums and it seems I redled it for laughs after old hd died. Also, those are rec screens not screens from the moments in the live game.

Actually I wanted to post JorDan_23 vs Daut, but I cannot find the recorded videos of that match anymore by DreaIVIs, does anyone know where to even find it? I remember it was the most hype thing I've ever watched and nothing got me as excited as that series, we even hit 2k viewers on the final stream if I recall correctly

i think those are in the zac's channel (zero empires), or at least the last game. Also i think Kc_ereon cast the recs some time ago
