guys tell me pls what is this function?
Guys matchmaking works when player base is huge, with aoe2 player base is just impossible to work properly even for 1v1 you keep see how top players keep playing vs players that they would never win except the top players troll or dont play seriously.
I’d be interested to hear some opinions on whether or not people think matchmaking should only be be 1v1?
In my opinion 1v1 is the easiest format to standardise and by far the fastest to queue into. If you’re playing 1v1 the social aspect is less important since it’s just you and your opponent and chatting outside of the game is not all too necessary.
My current suggestion is to remove team games from matchmaking entirely and make them rated in the lobbies. Obviously there must be some rules about it, such as having an equal number of players on teams etc. I think this could be the best solution for now, especially while the player base is small. This would also mean that elo is shown in the lobby browser to help balance teams.
My experience of team games in DE so far as an ~1800 player is that my friends and I queue for a long time only to get matched with a group of new players who we totally steamroll. It’s truly not fun for either side! We would be much happier to wait longer and make fair teams, to have a good even game, than to have these pointless games which are a negative experience for all 6 or 8 players involved.
Benefits of current Matchmaking system:
Has anti cheat features
Can you please explain a bit the anti-cheat measurements that Age of Empires 2 DE uses in multiplayer? Thank you.
I've been advocating for this.I’d be interested to hear some opinions on whether or not people think matchmaking should only be for 1v1?

I feel like things have stabilized, and neither Voobly nor DE seem to me to be dying, as some forecasted.
Which is the worst possible outcome imo.
Why though? Casual players and people that are in deeper connection to Microsoft keep on playing DE, while players that want to play in a stable and feature-rich environment play on UP+WK(Voobly). So there is something for everyone, nothing bad about it.
