Hello! So, I have spent my last 2 years watching pros and thinking about the right buff to make Turks draft-relevant in pro scene (1v1 - 2v2, open maps..). Many things came to mind such as; vils +3 damage against buildings, auto/easy deer lure, extremely cheap spear/skirm, having genitours, camel bonus damage against camels, etc. But I finally found the answer in the most basic form;
- Foot archers move 10% faster. HEAR ME OUT!
Pros;
- It doesn't make Turks stronger in Arena or Black Forest / It doesn't change late game
- It makes Turks more dimensional (rather than just scouts, jans, CA) in open 1v1s
- It makes Turks a bit more viable 2v2 archer civ due to survivability
- It is not a boring eco bonus to boost them
- It brings decision making to Turks (archer / scout, investing more in feudal or not)
- It doesn't touch the main characteristics. i.e. no mango or foot trash
Cons;
- It doesn't sound too exciting or ground breaking to casual players
- Archer buff is coming out of nowhere to this civ.
What do you think?
Thanks for being kind!
