Pretty much the title. You don't have any advantage from having no walls, walls always pay off and this is insane. All new civs have such insane eco bonus that they can pull off a Fast Castle in No time and pump out knights. Scouts never have any value and everyone is overrun by just Frank pocket knights.
Archer / Scouts are a thing of the past. Maa and drush are only so strong because it denies walls, that's the only point of this rush. If you want to nerf Drush / maa, you need to nerf walling even further. Increase Palisade cost to 3 and HP down to 225.
Map scripts are so heavily infiltrated that you can literally wall any map, I just had this map
I and red both scout rush without any success, because we literally hit only spears and walls. I got 2 villager of blue, Blue then managed to palisade wall, then stone wall behind, get 2 castles up (of course everything inside his walls and in the middle), went to imp and spammed Elite Tarkan (thanks they have 4 Pierce Armor now, they clearly needed it) -
this game was shortly over because every one of them boomed, turtled and then spammed paladin (and goth huskarl)...
This game has become a boomfest where literally anyone just walls up and boom. Early aggression lost any kind of value and is punished by the superiority of knights. I have noticed this in a lot of games.
With new civs getting insane Imp Powerhouses (Frank Paladin, Khmer Battle Elephants, Lithuanian Paladin, Konniks and Goth Flood) AND an Eco bonus this is the result. 5 Scouts costs 400 Food, by that time the enemy pocket will go up, build 2 TC and spam knights and destroys any Archer + Scout his flank has to deal with.
And this isn't the first time I had this, it happened countless of times. Booming is as much of a problem as Slinging back in AoC
