The WotU Tournament is terminated.

After further discussion and thinking, the Tournament will be as of today officially terminated.

I am sorry for those who have actually participated and done an effort to play and schedule their matches in this tournament, however multiple issues have been affecting the tourney. Far too many players were not willing to schedule their matches or uphold their responsibilities after registering to be part of the tournament.

Rules have been flaunted despite repeated warnings and PMs on AoCZone and Voobly, the behavior of some individuals have been irrational, bordering continuous harassment. Poor sportsmanship across the board in some cases (is it that difficult to play the final games of a B05 ?) and lack of gratitude have undermined the spirit of this aoc tournament. There is nothing wrong with constructive criticism however criticism based on personal emotions have no place in a tournament like this. Some individuals should understand that no benefits are gained by tournaments organizers and that tournaments are hosted for the purposes of promoting activity and competition. Some individuals should understand that managing a tournament is not exactly easy, specially when you have to chase half the players/babysit players to get them to play their matches.

While I understand the poor shape of DM due to WiC being delayed, I do question as well why so many DM players have decided to not participate in the tournament ( I will not point out whom they are, they know who they are already), perhaps if these players had decided to play instead of watching from the sidelines, maybe the brackets would have been less of an issue, and perhaps there would have been less scheduling issues.

A special thanks to the RM players who gave this tournament a try as they by themselves almost represented 50% of the players in this tournament.

I will add that I have 0 interests in promoting or hosting anymore DM related events in the future, so for those who wishes to take over the promotion of DM, I will wish you good luck in your objectives.

I think interest really dwindled once I was knocked out due to my wrist injury.

Great try bud.. my sympathies with you.. Hosting online tournies on a game like aoc is no joke.. My only request is dont give up as yet. You might have a bad experience in this DM tourny but you surely have some learnings which you could use next time..

Also since there were so less real DM'ers in the tourney, if he kicks most out this tourney would not be a real competition of skill but rather just a test of obedience and Punctuality

Priest might be a psychologicly hurt guy with child brains big ego and harsh character but..
In alot of his posts between his swears i find quite alot of true.
1. Very likely that final would be ChrisT vs Priest.
2. Very likely Priest will own ChrisT
3. I see no point why to terminate tournament since it was quite easy to kick completly inactive guys (Bacgio story was completly completly different you can't even compare it)
Priest wasn't the guy who caused it for sure. Since he didn't delay tournament. He might be very rude. But i must say he is playing very good his past games (yeah ikr that hacking vs Jidba but if Jidba would have reported in DM complaints Priest would have gained a ban)
And that talk that he was kicked from _zZ can be said only by _zZ creator/managers. Not random players.

My non rational side of the brain says I am thinking perhaps this tournament should pursued, just to see Priest lose and we don't have to put up with his idiocies for a week (thats as long as a break one can expect) and I don't have to hear his claims like the above (The fact you barely won two 3 hour games after a month of DM inactivity doesn't make you half decent genius, neither does you beating Kellan or Jidba when they are not playing, or playing anymore with WiC being delayed . But then I think logically and imo there's something very wrong with an admin interacting the way I do with priest (completely abnormal, am I not supposed to not indulge in flame wars, but then again, can I really ignore it ? And before one of you proposes kicking, I think kicking brad would defeat the purpose of this tournament (the only reason a few of us were playing with WiC being delayed, was specially so that clown doesn't get a free pass to this tournament championship). Also Andrew would not be administrating the tournament anymore, so I'd be updating it and chasing you all by myself (and taking full decisions by myself as well if necessary).

I also think it looks even more trashy to keep handing out admin wins and removing players because they : go AWOL or simply don't realize that this is a double elimination bracket.

I also regret the timing of this tournament seeing as it is hosted during the usual "downtime" period for DM every year, but it seemed like a good idea at first.

In other words, I'd rather just play in the future .
