Since i m German, i really like Nili. But he somehow sounds a bit arrogant here. What you guys think?

My tldw;

1. While co-casting Valas vs KingstoNe in Red Bull Wololo: Legacy Quarterfinals #2 with Nili, Hera made some of his classic "thought provoking" statements ("Knights counter pikes in early Castle Age", "I heard monks healing knights is equivalent to 20 villagers food-gold"). Nili reacted to these comments with his typical sarcasm and trolled him repeatedly through the game.
2. Nili made a video of Hera's statements and his own trolling.
3. Hera made a countervideo to restore any damage made by Nili's video to his reputation as a coach or as an Age of Empires II pundit, pointing out he was trying to engage in a serious discussion in order to advance the understanding of the game for the community.

Almost would have said this is cleverly engineered drama from both to increase their views, but since Nili took his own video down it seems to be just a one sided drama attempt gone too far.

Hera only needed to reach out to Nili, I am pretty sure he has him on Discord, email and maybe even a phone number - a conversation would have saved this from exploding.

This was my read as well. I'm floored that Nili would've uploaded that video thinking it made him look good in any way. So until he took it down I thought that this was some fabricated drama (as noted the "Saturday" comment by Hera on a video uploaded Thursday supported this imo).

I challenge anybody to sit through the 16 minute response video by hera. I think I made it 7 mins and I was pretty ashamed proud of that.

I feel like what Hera tried to do is to make people understand that in AoE theres never a generic answer to any question, its all based on the situation you get yourself in the game. All he said is right, he wasn't talking about fighting Knights vs pikeman non stop(which is never cost efficient), but he meant that knights has way more ways to be used in early castle age than pikeman(which you basically uses to defend yourself or you need siege to be able to be agressive). Valas showed that Hera was 100% correct because he was always around kingstone base, with full information and just booming behind, and in the end still won.

People that tries different answers for many commons situations are the ones that are always improving, so Hera showed on the video why hes one of the best players and why he wins in situations that others would be losing games.

First few minutes of watching Hera's video I thought he was overreacting. As it went on and he provided more context/clips I began to see why he was bothered by it.

Hera is an amazing player and he was spot on about everything he said about different situations of knights fighting pikes

Trying to put burden on Hera here is ridiculous. It was Nili* who uploaded the video to YouTube and made this issue public, without contacting Hera first. Hera's reaction video was something perfectly reasonable to do and he handled it in a mature way. Nili's video was pretty much an attempt at slander and a lot of people watched it on that day, many more would have watched it in the future, especially since YouTube likes making such "breakout" videos viral. Hera had to react with a video of his own, it was the only logical course of action. Discussing it privately and video being taken down would end with Hera being in worse position (Nili's viewers having worse opinion of Hera) and no consequences to Nili, who was at fault in this situation. Hera's video addressed all the insinuations and exposed bad faith Nili was showcasing there.

I think it's pretty concerning that Nili refuses to admit any responsibility for what happens on his own channel and even blames Hera for the situation while seeing absolutely no fault of his own, the best we got out of him was "i can see how it can be misinterpreted". Basically his attitude is "i can say anything i want publicly and if someone gets offended, it's their fault. if they respond to me publicly, they are in the wrong, they should have contacted me privately and then i would maybe delete the video". Incredibly arrogant behavior with little thought toward other people. No standards for himself but high demands of others.
Sorry Nili, but it is your channel, what is uploaded there is treated as your doing. If you have no control over what your editor uploads, that's also your fault and you can't expect others to give you a free pass over it.

Let's remember that this casted game happened like a month ago? and they were casting for a long time after events portrayed in the video so it's not like they had a beef because of this awkward game. However, why did the editor decide to upload this manipulative clip weeks later? Apparently he thought it was funny and Nili admitted he considered the video hilarious too, after watching it. IMO it just shows how poor taste they both have. No, it wasn't funny at all. Being excessively sarcastic when other person is explaining the topic seriously and then continuing to harass that person with more cheap remarks or misquotes, despite the efforts of other person to actually cast the game isn't a proper behavior. Hera was doing his best to smooth out the situation, to not disrupt the flow of the casting while all Nili was doing was repeatedly throwing cheap attacks at Hera instead of having a conversation about the game. As Hera mentioned, he wasn't particularly bothered by it at the time because he understandably gives a lot of leeway to people during live cast (as everybody should! Dave and T90 often talk about it too, it's easy to make a mistake or say something dumb when you're live and have to talk for hours!) but what truly bothered him was that Nili decided to upload this manipulative video weeks later, after there was plenty of time to think about it, and how the video looked. It didn't look like a funny joke or light banter at all. It looked like an attempt to ridicule, mock Hera.

Nili also said that he actually agrees with everything Hera was saying about knights vs pikes and he thought it was obvious that Hera is right and therefore that Nili's behavior was also obviously a joke. Hera actually said he saw it as a joke initially and tried playing into the joke too but things got weird when Nili kept going on while apparently acting serious about it.
Well, if you go too far, that stops looking like a joke. And Nili was going way too far both on that day and even more so, by making this into a video later. This is something Nili should finally learn and I really hope he will. Or else, there will be more needless drama in the future.
Also, something quite relevant to show how detached Nili is from reality and weight of his actions/expectations of zero consequences - lots of people commenting on the matter (i would dare to say majority of them, based on comments to Nili's video before he deleted it, and comments on reddit) didn't actually consider "knights counter pikes in early castle age" statement something obviously correct. A lot of people strongly disagreed (hilariously, most of those were Nili supporters, they certainly don't match intellect of their idol they jumped to defend) and many took more conservative approach, saying that the statement holds varying degrees of truth but is too controversial.
