New update again and you start reading the game changes.

Its official microsoft totaly ruined the 2 most fav & played dm civs of all time.

After ruining the HUNS now they ruined FRANKS

GG ENJOY THE TRAGEDY

I hope one day they realise that "you dont touch the legacy most played civs of 20 years history" and ruin their natural rushy playstyle

Yep its terrible, on the reddit aoe2 sub most posters were saying "Treadmill crane? who uses that!?"

such a shame. 20 years and they ruin it

This is true. Death Match is now Donjon Match.

So Franks will be a little bit slower civ, especially at start as I understand considering slower build time. What are the other side effects that you guys noticed?

And Jidba, adaptation is one of the most important skills of human being, which let them survive in any environment and climate. You can do it. Isn't it a bit over-reaction?

I think the point Jidba is trying to make is not that it simply changes Franks, but it also slows them down which may lead to less-aggressive styles in Frank mirror for DM. Having cheap castles while also being slower to build up could lead to endless 2 hour games. In essence, this might make them less enjoyable to play. Overall, I agree with Jidba here and wish they would reverse this change, but we'll see how it plays out!

Well why not complaining about chivalry instead, i guess its fair for dm, like a counter nerf.

Frank mirror in DM with or without Chivalry tends to lead to about the same population by the 4 minute mark; this is due to the biggest constraint in franks being houses. Chivalry does make it more intense in early game though.

Making any changes to the balance for a game mode that is played in less than 1 in 100 games seams incredibly stupid. What’s next Celts lose wood bonus because it’s op in Forest Nothing?

How is that at all comparable when DM is still an active game mode in tournaments and competitions, especially when you are discussing a change that was specifically made for DM? It's sometimes better to stay silent if you have nothing good to add.

Just because some people play it doesn't mean they have to change it for the great majority that don't. It's not like it is impossible to only change things for post imperial age games so the RM players don't have to deal with this ****.

Is there an alternative idea to balance DM TG strength of those civs without hurting 1v1 DM ?

@ELLaS_Jidba i pretty much know nothing about DM. I just played a 3v3 with two friends and one had Sicilians. He could go for the 15 gold per military unit UT. Isn’t that very against all things that are basic for DM and also super broken?

well for some odd reason the new civs can research their unique techs in Post imperial (so all techs researched) DM. This is not the case for any other civ right now or before (even Viet who have a UT that affects the team in a similar way, how the ones of the new civs are affecting it)

Vietnamese & their allies start with +500 gold

If these techs started off researched, they would begin the game with 3 flemish militia and 0 food, I don't think that would be a fun game mode where you cant make villagers without sling

Fair enough, didnt know that it had to work that way, I kinda hope that there is a way around it, but for sure not going to be a priority. For Sicilians 10 Serjeants from start might be op (not sure if they are fast enough) but the other one doesnt break the game that way.

Well they could also just not have the unique techs, but that wouldn't be very fair if the civ just misses two parts of their civ identity in post imp starts.

but isn’t it breaking the identity of DM where it should be about decision making and map control rather than about timing upgrades to the perfect moment?

DMers, what about a tech in impe which doubles the pop space of a house(so it would be 10 for normal civs, 20 for incas)? It would not affect RM but could make the start faster in DM.

Just saw this post

My bad. I guess with Burgundians it kinda makes sense as their start would be broken.

But why does Sicilians still get access to First Crusade? And why did Slavs of all civs lose Treadmill Crane. Is it so they have to build houses at the start?

If memory serves me right. Camelry the invisible saracens tech is disabled. Could you not do that for first crusade?
