Welcome Everyone! Introducing to you - The Blender Cup 2021!

I hope you are all HYPED because this event promises to bring the action! With possibly the greatest prizes up for grabs that this Age of Empires community has seen, you must be quick to get your name signed up so that you have the chance to be involved!

The Blender Cup (est. 1998) is the only AoE2 tournament where the grand prize is a vintage, one-of-a-kind Blender from 1975. Open to players under 1400 ELO, the main event will take place from May 2nd to May 9th. The tournament will also feature a mini cup, The Hand Whisk Cup, for players over 1400 ELO as they lock horns to try and take home a beautiful electric hand whisk.

The main aim of this tournament is to provide a fun space for new and experienced players to have a really good time together playing and watching AoE. Think of it as a big carnival, but a carnival where you can actually win the prizes. It will feature top players, bottom players, great games, co-casters and it’s your chance at AoE immortality!

Qualification rounds will take place in April with recordings of those games cast on the stream in the first part of the main event week. The later rounds will be played and streamed live later in the week. The initial rounds of The Blender Cup will be split into higher and lower ELO groups to allow for more fun and good matchups for everyone.

TL:DR

1. Sign up here (link removed)
2. Join the discord https://discord.gg/D7rDDh8ekj for updates and scheduling.
3. Wait for your opponent to be organised.
4. Schedule your game in #blender-cup-scheduling.
5. Play your matches and upload recordings to #blender-cup-replays (with spoiler tags).
6. Rinse repeat until you have a blender.

StreamingInTheYears will donate €1 for every subscription to the channel from May 2nd to 9th to the prize pool for the winner of the Blender Cup.

Every donation to https://streamelements.com/streamingintheyears/tip from May 2nd to May 9th will be added to the prize pool for the winners of the Blender Cup and Hand-Whisk Cup.

We are open to sponsorship if anyone has a phone number for the boyos in Microsoft.

Blender Cup

• Round of 32: Games Played April 11th to April 17th
• Round of 16: Games Played April 18th to April 24th

Round of 32 and 16 recordings will be cast between May 2nd to May 5th (time permitting).

• Quarter Finals (recordings and live): May 6th and May 7th
• Semi Finals (streamed live): May 8th
• Final (streamed live): May 9th

Hand Whisk Cup (limited spaces)

• Quarter Finals (recordings streamed): May 6th and May 7th
• Semi Finals (recordings streamed): May 8th
• Final (streamed live): May 9th

Streaming is closed unless you obtain permission. Send me a DM on discord if you’re interested, but not all rounds will be open to streaming.

ONE MORE THING

At the moment, we are not sure how many entries we will receive, but we will expand the first rounds of the tournament to accommodate if we go over the 32 proposed spaces for The Blender Cup.
