I like to play TGs. BoA3 just shows us how great they are, but at my TG-Elo that is...well.. somewhere between 1800 and 3000, the current ladder has some problems. I still get fun games, even if I solo-que, but I get as many onesided games, smurfs or trolls.
Since I recently learned that this forum is still visited by some people that have a say in this game, I thought of some suggestions. For a patch in the future, I would wish for an ELO-reset, and the implemtation of a few changes.
Steam family share
The by far biggest Issue, that actually creates most of the problems (smurfs/Teams with 3 1000ELO and 1 4000 elo) is the steam family share. Lock them out of ranked games!
I am not entirely sure if this is possible for the dev team, but it works in CSGO and would fix the most annoying porblems without needing to touch the current matchmaking.
Other options
If this is not possible there are other options that may solve this problem, that can be implemented together or on its own.
Most of this would actually not be needed if we could get the Family-share smurfs out of ranked games.
No matter what solution is used, I think an elo-reset should be done ahead.

- a team-TG-elo, for teams that play more than 3-5 games together. SC2 is working in this way, if you que together you will get a TG elo for each team in each combination. With this it is not possible to boost you ELO with weaker players. Your Team will simply get its own Elo. (Not sure if we are enough players for this)
- a diffrent calculation for the Matchmaking. Currently it is just the average Elo. You could multiply the Elo of the strongest player by a factor (1.2, 1.5 2??). You could also only do this if the Elo diffrence is to big within the team.
- Dont allow teams with a ELO-gap that is higher than a certain value.
- Ranked lobbies for TGs. Not a big fan of this, and since we have a lot of solo queuers probably not the best idea. I have no good memories of ranked lobbies for TGs...took forever to get a game new players will find it hard to get in etc. It would also not solve anything on its own.
- A diffrent calculation for the gained elo. Compare each players Elo to the average enemy Team Elo (maybe also the Elo with the calculation suggest before). In this way you will still have no Elo inflation, but the highest rated players will not benefit as much as the lowest rated ones.
