Bad behavior?
There is no bad behavior in strategy choice. It's a video game.
You are entitled to play however you want. You are allowed to utilize any strategy available to you because there are no rules regarding which strategies you are or are not allowed to pursue. If you want to play FC Khmer 500 games, have at ye. If you want to trush to your hearts content, have at ye! If you want to dance around and decide contests with feudal Scouts or feudal Archers -- and so on.
You have an opinion on laming. While it may be shared with many, I would hesitate to say even a majority agree with it to the extent you do. Let's say I have an opinion on Feudal Scouts.
Should I get to denigrate my opponents based on their use of Feudal Scouts, or a Pre-mill Drush?
Should I suggest players utilizing these builds are inferior, terrible, mean-spirited "toxic," players?
You mention a gentlement's (or gentlewomen's,) agreement. The inherent problem is that there is no guarantee an opponent subscribes to it. What is fun for one person, what is fair for one person, may not be for another. What I feel about laming, trushing, Scrushing, Flushing, is immaterial. How you feel about laming does not matter.
Since there is no way to write in a 20 page long document as to what behavior is acceptable, and what is not before each match specific to it and the opponent-- you must revert to the rules of the game -- the only fair arbiter.
Anything goes, and each player has the ability to perform any strategy available to them in order to win the contest -- with only their opponent having the opportunity to thwart them -- without belittlement or insult.
The idea that a community believes it has the temerity to arbitrarily determine what strategies are acceptable or not is poppycock, especially when there is absolutely no consensus.
