Remember the good old days when houses could attack? good times good timeswe should replace all units with different types of walls. Mele walls, ranged walls, house walls **** id even take fishing walls.
The walls could have access to Attack Move too.Remember the good old days when houses could attack? good times good times
BRILLIANT !!!!!!!!! and lets make them the only ones not affected by pathing !!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHThe walls could have access to Attack Move too.
Almost every other bug"fix" we've seen has been the lowest effort bandaid solution rather than a real attempt to address the problem, presumably because there is a big disparity between the programming skills of the developers and the challenges they face working on a legacy game engine. This same phenomenon tends to be found with balance changes and AoE2 is not an abnormally difficult game to play around with so I'm not sure what the excuse is there.Ironically they are just making it more frustrating to use, as opposed to actually fixing the things about it that should not be happening (like being able to glide through other units, and keeping all momentum rather than having to regroup AKA the "speed boost" people are complaining about).
Stop micro is also still kinda buggy (it works if you wait a long time after shooting before shooting again, but you have to wait for longer than the actual reload time, otherwise only some of the units actually shoot as soon as possible whereas others just stand there for a sec before shooting).
I'm not a fan of this "fix" personally. If they'd revert pathing because to what it was like either 1) in the previous patch, or 2) at the beginning of DE when it was extremely smooth and "knights were OP", it would be much better.
Here is a radical idea, Elephants that can wall !!we should replace all units with different types of walls. Mele walls, ranged walls, house walls **** id even take fishing walls.

The low-graphic folder is filled with the unit/building sprites with only half the size of the standard sprites. I guess there will be a new low graphic mode which could draw in some HD and Voobly players who can't play DE because of their machines. That would actually be amazing.
Now this is hugeafaik you could always put down a palisade foundation of your own and trigger the unload action that way.
This change also means you can tower hop 2 tile deep forests by putting a wall foundation in front I think?
While defending these were the population limit bypass strategies that gave a solid chance for a wonder victoryThe walls could have access to Attack Move too.
If only that feature was called "original graphics" or "classic graphics" and included with the game on release. That would have required Microsoft to produce an AoE2:DE that wasn't literally the bare minimum necessary to achieve non-disasterous sales among the core fanbase however.According to a reddit user, a new "low graphics" option might be on the way!
This could be an awesome opportunity to lure in players from Voobly/HD whose systems were too slow to run DE!
Yup. Also attack move is fun to use, due is quite smooth, sometimes it bugs out too, but it's still fun to use. Also with this "fixed" attack move will most likely won't be to use thumb ring properly again, like with current attack move is nice that thumb ring or ethiopian bonus can be properly taken advantage of, while if your units have to walk way more, those differences probably won't be noticeable as much, which is quite bad.Ironically they are just making it more frustrating to use, as opposed to actually fixing the things about it that should not be happening (like being able to glide through other units, and keeping all momentum rather than having to regroup AKA the "speed boost" people are complaining about).

I tested this, you have to actually build the wall now rather than just placing a foundation. It's also kinda glitchy and often places most of the units on the wrong side, effectively doing nothing (you want your units to go over the wall, not just jump out of the siege tower on the same side 11)Now this is huge
Yeah but what if they were elite?Even if the devs made the siege tower fly and shoot 50 mangudais per second, people still wouldn't use them.
