The showmatch will be on Saturday September 7th at 13:00 UTC.

Players may not choose a map that has already been played. Players are allowed 1 “Re” each, to be called before 4 minutes of game time. The administrator can call a “Re” in case of a bugged map generation. An administrator “Re” does not count against either player.

Civilizations are free pick, with no repeats, and hidden civ in the game room.

Nice settings and I like the choice of players - both are pretty exciting to watch and both are on the edge to the top 5 in 1v1. So it's probably also for them a great chance to prove themselves. Looking forward to it

Great idea, Hera was absolutely on fire during the ECL final and I think these 2 are on a similar level, glad to see that they have the opportunity to play for some decent prize money.

some decent? 1k dollars for one series BO7 is not decent, is huge, im happy to cast those and happy for them but we should be careful to say decent with 1k, or soon how we host events? if showmatches have 1k and we call decent, how much we need for a teamgame tournament 100.000?

Love the showmatch, but to be honest... I think 1k dollar is too much for a BO7 showmatch right now 11. It's just a bit out of proportion for me.

Regarding the showmatch, it's an unbelievably good event. We all know Hera is a confident lad who believes his place is in the established top 10, and now he has the opportunity show it. Hype!

For a literate guy, I sure have to point out so many things. Firstly, you don't see the the idiocracy in you replying to me when you are of the belief that everyone is allowed and encouraged to give their opinion. Secondly,yes, sometimes the opinion incvolves ridiculing.

I actually kind of agree with the poster you were ridiculing.

Of course nobody is to say how much someone is supposed to donate for a Showmatch, but with a prize pool of 1k dollars one could maybe get 2 more players on board for a weekend event?

We had showmatches for more money, for less money as well. This one is at a great time where no real big tournament happends = tons of viewers most likely gonna watch it.

However I do think that if you asked them to play for 500 bucks winner get 350 loser 150, they woulda said yes too.

The matchup itself (which is the most important thing here) is great as these are on a similar level in 1v1, probably considered top10 by everybody.

I also think if you didn't pay anything, they'd end up playing rated games at some point too. But the point of this is to make it competitive, isn't it? And the more money, the more competitive

Rated games are pretty pointless you can see some high level ones every day basically, if we based everything around them Vivi would be top1 and viper top30.

I think competition does get higher if you have more money, but giving 250 to the loser also kinda makes it less competitive since they both know no matter how they play they will get 50 bucks an hour for these games.
