Hi all,
I recently discovered Google Sheets and the aoe2.net API and started playing around with it. Based on this I created a seeding sheet for tournaments, which automatically updates player data and ranks the players/teams accordingly.
You can find the sheets here:
1v1 Seeding List Template
TG Seeding List Template
Features
User Input
The sheet does most of the work for you. Technically, the only thing you'll need to enter are the Steam IDs or Profile IDs of the players (and team names for teamgame tournaments). Besides you can enter player names and countries and configure the sheets as you wish.
Limitations
Also, feedback is highly appreciated. I am aware that the potential target group is somewhat limited Yet I would be glad if I could help someone out with these sheets.
Cheers

AoE4
There have been some requests to have this sheet also for AoE4 tournaments and here we go:
Apart from that, the functionality is basically the same.

Features
- Automatic retrieval of player data via the aoe2.net API incl. extraction of current rating, highest rating and current nickname
- For TG tournaments: Aggregation of player data on team level incl. extraction of highest rated players per team (e.g. only consider the top 3 players for a 3v3 tournament)
- Sorting of the players/teams based on their rating
- Built-in configuration options:
- Leaderboard to be used - RM 1v1, RM Teamgames, DM 1v1, DM Teamgames
- Seeding criterion - current, highest or average rating
- Weighting for calculating the average rating - prioritize current or highest rating
- Update frequency can be set freely via Google Apps Script triggers

Limitations
- There is currently no feature for the calculation of average ratings based on multiple ratings of one player (e.g. consider both RM 1v1 and RM TG ratings for teamgame tournaments). As there are a lot of options that you could choose for this, keeping the sheet flexible would be too much work and would probably make it messy. Such a feature could be built for a specific use case.
- The sheets use the aoe2.net API, i.e. it uses DE ratings. You could obviously remove the script behind them and manually enter voobly data instead but I guess the sheet wouldn't give you too many benefits in this case.

AoE4
There have been some requests to have this sheet also for AoE4 tournaments and here we go:
- "Simple" version (1v1)
- "Advanced" version (1v1) with tournament ranking included for top level tournaments, in collaboration with @Adico
Apart from that, the functionality is basically the same.
