Hi folks, apologies if this is the wrong board for this question.
I was messing around in the scenario editor and wanted to add some Turk skirmishers with full upgrades (everything from the blacksmith, chemistry etc. but no the elite upgrade, since Turks don't get it.) However, if I set player 1's civ to Turks and starting age to post-Imp, it is no longer possible to place the "Skirmisher" unit for that player. It is removed from the unit list. However, it is possible to place the "Elite Skirmisher" unit for the player, even though their civ doesn't normally have access to the unit.
It seems weird to me that the units you are allowed to place are tied to the player's starting age at all. Like, if I set player 1 to have a Dark Age start, I can give them Elite War Wagons, Longboats, and a Monastery, and archers - but no crossbows? Like, it would be one thing if it was actually limited to units the civ can make in that age... but it seems to be pretty much arbitrary. Anyhow, I just wanted to check:
1) This is normal right? I haven't ****ed up my scenario editor somehow to cause this behaviour? It seems extremely bizarre but I assume this is how it's supposed to work?
2) Anyone know a workaround to place (non-Elite) skirmishers with otherwise full Imperial upgrades in the editor? Kind of frustrating if there's literally no way to do this.
Cheers!
