1. General Rules
#01. Every participant must respect their opponent. Bad behavior (determined by staff) will result in a warning and may lead to an immediate disqualification of a player. This tournament values not only great skills, but also sportsmanship and fairness. Any insult, racism or flaming will not be tolerated. Laming and mind games in game are allowed, it is a part of the game.
#02. A player must try their best to schedule and play their match against the opponent. If the staff determines that a player is trying to avoid scheduling and playing the tournament games, the player may be warned, receive an admin loss for the game or match or be disqualified from the tournament.
#03. If players cannot come to an agreement in scheduling their match, the Staff will analyze the situation, schedule and timezones in order to put a viable Admin Time to suit both players as good as possible.
#04. a) Smurfing and account sharing is not allowed. Any discovery of the mentioned will be severely punished.
#05. All games are by default to be played in the Voobly Tournament Lobby ( Link). If both players agree to play in another lobby on Voobly, that is accepted as well.
#06. a) All records must be uploaded in the recorded games subforum.
#06. b) Before posting, the recorded game files must be renamed in the following format:
Game naming example:
WoU Round 1Sexy_Brad vs Wild_Dan G1_Huns_Vikings.mgz
Pack naming example:
WoU Round 1Sexy_Brad vs Wild_Dan G1_Huns_Vikings.zip
If the games aren't renamed correctly (or not packed), the result won't be accepted until the games are renamed/packed according to the given format.
#07. a) Additional time to complete your games can only be given upon admin decision and additional time must be requested before Friday of the current week.
#07. b) All the games must be scheduled and confirmed by both players in the tournament Scheduling forums, informing the other player of the exact date and time of the arranged games.
#07. c) If there is no agreement about the playing time by Thursday 23.59 GMT, the staff might start interfering in order to get the games scheduled and completed in time.
#08. In case of disconnections, the game must be saved and restored. All of the mgz recorded game files (multiple parts of the game before/after drop) must be provided when posting the recorded games.
If restoring is not possible, the recorded game should be provided, along with any additional information to the Administration of the Veterans of the Clash instantly. Subsequently, facts will be analyzed and a final decision made.
#9. Once two players have arranged and confirmed a time to play, the maximum waiting time is 20 minutes. If one of the players fails to arrive, the waiting player must take a screenshot showing http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_UTC.aspx (so the current time is clearly visible) with the Tournament Lobby Game Room, and post the screenshot in Admin Requests topic (with a link to the post in the Scheduling forums where the game time was arranged and confirmed. This way, tournament admins will know how long the player waited and upon Admins decision, and the player that did not come might get an Admin Loss for the games. Do not try to edit time arrangement posts in an attempt to get free wins, because our forum registers the exact date and hour of each edited post. Such actions are considered cheating, and the offender will be punished according to rules.
#10. Prizes will be handed out by Voobly Staff at the completion of the tournament.
#11. If a game is not recorded, it must be replayed regardless of result and evidence of it.
#12. Each player must be fluent in English and is responsible for scheduling, possible disputes, and everything else regarding their participation. If a player is not fluent in English, they can have an External Operator to represent them during scheduling, recorded game posting and in the Veterans of the Clash tournament in general. The external operator must be added along the sign up post.
#13 By signing up for the tournament you agree to have all your games streamed and casted by the official streaming team of the tournament through using the Spectator Mode on Voobly, brought by the Userpatch 1.4 version. The streams will always have a delay to avoid cheating, and no other persons are allowed to spectate your game besides the official streamers, or if persons are granted permission by the tournament Administration for a valid reason. There is no assurance of your games being streamed, but the possibility is there at all times.
#14 New rules can be added and current rules can be changed. However, Admins MUST inform the players about such changes in the tournament Settings forum. All the latest additions in Rules / Settings will be in red.
#15. By signing-up for the tournament, you automatically agree with all the Tournament Rules and Settings.
#16. Restarts: Considering the nature of random civilizations, certain match ups in DM can be quite unbalanced and nearly impossible to overcome the handicap. For that reason, players are allowed a maximum of 1 restart per round – which has to be used during the first minute of game time.
#17. Cheating is not allowed under any circumstances.
#18. If a player starts with a trapped gold pile (impossible to mine until forest is cut) and is not satisfied with that situation, the player can request a re-launch of the game – with the same civilizations match up.
#19. Towers are allowed along with walls.
