|Veterans of the Clash - Official Rules|
|1. General Rules|
#01. Every participant must respect their opponent. Bad behavior (determined by staff) will result in a warning and may lead to an immediate disqualification of a player. This tournament values not only great skills, but also sportsmanship and fairness. Any insult, racism or flaming will not be tolerated. Laming and mind games in game are allowed, it is a part of the game.
#02. A player must try their best to schedule and play their match against the opponent. If the staff determines that a player is trying to avoid scheduling and playing the tournament games, the player may be warned, receive an admin loss for the game or match or be disqualified from the Veterans of the Clash tournament.
#03. If players cannot come to an agreement in scheduling their match, the Staff will analyze the situation, schedule and timezones in order to put a viable Admin Time to suit both players as good as possible.
#04. a) Smurfing and account sharing is not allowed. Any discovery of the mentioned will be severely punished.
#05. All games are by default to be played in the Voobly Tournament Lobby ( → Link). If both players agree to play in another lobby on Voobly, that is accepted as well.
#06. a) The participating players will have access to a very own Player Zone under the Veterans of the Clash category in the left menu. There will be a Topic dedicated to your specific matchup, and Immediately after two players have finished a match, both players are to rename his recorded games according to the rules and post them in your match topic. The Admins will then release the recorded games to the public with spoilers to avoid revealing the result.
#06. b) Before posting, the recorded game files must be renamed in the following format:
Game naming example:
VoC Round Robin Bear_Grylls (POV) vs Wild_Nature G3 Nomad.mgz
Pack naming example:
VoC Round Robin Bear_Grylls(POV) vs Wild_Nature.zip
If the games aren't renamed correctly (or not packed), the result won't be accepted untill the games are renamed/packed according to the given format.
#07. a) Additional time to complete your games can only be given upon admin decision and additional time must be requested before Friday of the current week.
#07. b) All the games must be scheduled and confirmed by both players in the Veterans of the Clash Scheduling forums ( → Link), informing the other player of the exact date and time of the arranged games.
#07. c) If there is no agreement about the playing time by Thursday 23.59 GMT, the staff might start interfering in order to get the games scheduled and completed in time.
#08. In case of disconnections, the game must be saved and restored. All of the mgz recorded game files (multiple parts of the game before/after drop) must be provided when posting the recorded games.
If restoring is not possible, the recorded game should be provided, along with any additional information to the Administration of the Veterans of the Clash instantly. Subsequently, facts will be analyzed and a final decision made.
#9. Once two players have arranged and confirmed a time to play, the maximum waiting time is 20 minutes. If one of the players fails to arrive, the waiting player must take a screenshot showing http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_UTC.aspx (so the current time is clearly visible) with the Tournament Lobby Game Room, and post the screenshot in Admin Requests topic ( → Link); with a link to the post in the Scheduling forums where the game time was arranged and confirmed. This way, tournament admins will know how long the player waited and upon Admins decision, and the player that did not come might get an Admin Loss for the games. Do not try to edit time arrangement posts in an attempt to get free wins, because our forum registers the exact date and hour of each edited post. Such actions are considered cheating, and the offender will be punished according to rules.
#10. Prizes will be sent via PayPal. If the recipients do not use/have PayPal the prizes will be sent by other means. However, certain fees may be deducted from the amount.
#11. If a game is not recorded, it must be replayed regardless of result and evidence of it.
#12. Each player must be fluent in English and is responsible for scheduling, possible disputes, and everything else regarding their participation. If a player is not fluent in English, they can have an External Operator to represent them during scheduling, recorded game posting and in the Veterans of the Clash tournament in general. The external operator must be added along the sign up post.
#13 By signing up for the tournament you agree to have all your games streamed and casted by the official streaming team of the Veterans of the Clash through using the Spectator Mode on Voobly, brought by the Userpatch 1.4 version. The streams will always have a delay to avoid cheating, and no other persons are allowed to spectate your game besides the official streamers, or if persons are granted permission by the tournament Administration for a valid reason. There is no assurance of your games being streamed, but the possibility is there at all times.
#14 New rules can be added and current rules can be changed. However, Admins MUST inform the players about such changes in the Veterans of the Clash Rules & Settings forum. All the latest additions in Rules / Settings will be in red.
#15. By signing-up for the tournament, you automatically agree with all the Tournament Rules and Settings.

#17. In the event of a no-TC start (Land Nomad, Nomad) - that is a start where players do not have Town Centers but only villagers:
a) the first buildings constructed must be either a Town Center or a Dock.
b) No Barracks, no Palisade Wall and no more than one House may be build until the first TC is up.
c) No TC fighting is allowed. If it happens the game must be replayed. Should the administration decide that a TC fight occurred intentionally, the player will receive an admin loss for that game.
d) No fighting is allowed until both player's TC is up.
e) If a player starts with a stuck villager he may decide to restart the game, but this must be said during the first 4 minutes. A restart requested due to a stuck villager does not count as one of the restarts awarded before a series.
In each 5 game series, each player is awarded three restarts.
You may use no more than one restart per map. That means that if you've used one restart for G1, and still have a restart left, you are not allowed to use another restart for the G1.
A restart must be requested no longer than 4 minutes of game time after the start of the game(remember that this is shorter than real minutes). Games that are restarted must be included when posting recorded games of the match. When a game is restarted, the civilisations must be the same as in the previous attempt. If a restart is requested while playing the CoT_Map_Pack_v2, the map that was generated must be repeated by choosing the specific map that was played.
#19. If a player starts with a trapped villager, that means one or more villagers of that player are surrounded by objects and unable to leave that area. A player may request a restart within the first four gaming minutes by chatting explaining the situation and resigning. That game will be restarted and it will not count as the restart given to each player in #18. If a player lies about a trapped villager, they will receive an admin loss for that game.
#20. Any graphic changes that only affects the player's Age of Empires II: The Conquerors are allowed.
#21. Cheating is not allowed under any circumstances. Players doing any kind of cheating will be disqualified from the Veterans of the Clash and banned from future AoCZone events, as well as the AoCZone forums.
#22. All the game settings provided in this post MUST be followed. Not following them may result in a penalties and in worst case disqualifications.
