Tournament format
The main event of the Tournament will feature 16 teams of 2 or 3 players (2 players+1 backup) in a single-elimination bracket. The top 8 sign-ups automatically get into the main event, while the other 8 spots will be achieved through a 1-round single-elimination qualifier featuring 16 teams. The seeding of the teams will be done based on their average 1v1 rating and previous tournament performance.
The tournament will also offer a silver league with no prizepool for those, who would still want to play these settings for fun. Teams unable to qualify will be offered a spot in the silver league. Tournament Rules
§1 - Sign Up, Participation & Seeding
Teams may consist of 2 or 3 players (2+1 backup).
Players must sign up with their most well-known nickname and must play their games with their most well-known nickname being shown in-game.
Players will be seeded based on the average of their current & highest 1v1 rating. Previous tournament performance will also be taken into consideration when seeding. Seeding will be done by certain expert players and casters.
Semis and Grand Finals will take place between 11-13th September. By signing up, you acknowledge that you can play on these days, if you get to the semis/finals.
§2 - Respecting Deadlines & Scheduling
Teams will schedule their games in the respective AoEZone post. Teams are asked to confirm their scheduled time at latest 24 hours prior to the scheduled time, so casters can prepare for the series.
Players are also asked to scheduled their games between 10-22GMT on any given day (this helps make sure that all casters interested can cover the event), and try to avoid overlapping with other series.
Semis and Grand Finals will take place between 11-13th September. By signing up, you acknowledge that you can play on these days, if you get to the semis/finals.
Players are asked to arrive on time to their scheduled series. In case of emergency, the team intending to reschedule must inform admins and the opponents about this at latest 30 minutes prior to the start of the series.
Any player offering an Admin Win to their opponent, and/or not completing any round/games will be penalized 50% of their prize money per infraction. Any player arriving late to their match will be penalized 10% of their prize money for every 15 minute period in which they are late. Any prizemoney that is forfeited will be distributed proportionally among the other players.
During the main event, players will complete map & civ drafts prior to the scheduled start time. Please arrive 5-10 minutes earlier so the draft can be conducted.
§3 - Respect & Fairplay
Every player must respect their opponents. Bad behavior (determined by Admins) may result in a warning and may lead to immediate disqualification of the player. This tournament values not only great skills but also sportsmanship and fairness. Any insult, racism or flaming will not be tolerated. Laming and mind games in-game are allowed.
Players are requested to limit the time taken between games as much as possible to make the experience smooth for everyone.
§4 - No Smurfing
All players have agreed to the No Smurf rule. Each player must submit all relevant player usernames for Admin discussion. Smurfing and account sharing is not allowed. Any discovery of the aforementioned will result in player's disqualification.
§5 - Recorded Games
For the qualifiers and main event, the winning player must post their recorded games & the link to their civ draft in the “Recorded games” section of the Tournament’s AoEZone subforum.
§6 - Prize Money
Prizes will be sent via PayPal at the conclusion of the tournament. If the recipients do not use/have PayPal the prizes will be sent by other means. However, certain fees may be deducted from the amount in this case.
§7 - Communication
Each player must be fluent in English and is responsible for scheduling, possible disputes, and everything else regarding their participation. If a player is not fluent in English, they can have an External Operator to represent them during scheduling, recorded game posting and in the tournament in general. The External Operator must be communicated to the tournament Admins ahead of time.
§8 - Rules Additions
New rules can be added and current rules can be changed. However, Admins MUST inform the players about such changes by listing all changes in a new reply to this thread. All the latest additions in Rules & Settings will be marked in Orange.

§2 - Restarts
There will be no player restarts for this event.
§3 - Bugged Map Restarts
A player can request bugged map restarts during the first 2 minutes (game time).
A bugged map is defined as the following for standard resource starts:
Gold: Less than 5 tiles of the main gold cluster are at least accessible on one side, extra gold are excluded.
Stone: Less than 4 tiles of a stone cluster are at least accessible on one side, extra stones are excluded.
Berries: Less than 4 tiles of a berry cluster are at least accessible on one side.
§4 - Hidden Different Civilizations
"Hide Civilizations" must be selected when hosting the lobby on DE.
The civilizations must be selected according to the civ draft. A team can use each drafted civ only once.
If a player incorrectly chooses a civ that has been banned or has previously been played their opponents may choose their civ, from their available civs in the draft.
§5 - Player Colours
The lower seeded team can decide if they want to use cold or warm colours. The other team will use the one that wasn’t selected.
Warm Colours: Red, Yellow
Cold Colours: Blue, Green
§6 - Graphical Mods
Any graphic changes that only affect the player's Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition are allowed.
§7 - Cheating
Cheating is not allowed under any circumstances. Players using any kind of cheat will be disqualified from the tournament and banned from future events.
§8 - Automatic Agreement & Punishment
All the game settings provided in this post MUST be followed. Not following them may result in penalties and possibly disqualification.
§9 - Straggler Trees & Fish Deletion
Players are not allowed to delete the straggler trees which spawn within 10 tiles of an opposing player’s Town Center. This rule does not apply if the straggler tree which is being deleted forms part of a wall for the defending player. On maps where main forests are exclusively straggler trees, it is strictly forbidden to delete straggler trees from opponents (using the "palisade trick") unless they are single trees being used as part of a mid-section of a wall.
Players may not delete fish spawning on sand or Mangrove shallow terrain by placing a building on top of them.
§10 - Laming
Players are allowed to do anything else that is permitted within the game, including walling in resources or blocking/killing villagers.
§11 - Server
Players should together work out a server that gives the most equal pings for the two players, if they cannot agree on a server they should speak to an admin.
§12 - Restoring
In the case of disconnections, the players must attempt to save and restore. The players must not look at the map after saving the game & before restoring.
All the .aoe2record recorded game files (multiple parts of the game before/after drop) must be provided when posting the recorded games.
If restoring is not possible, the recorded game should be provided, along with any additional information to the Admins instantly. Subsequently, facts will be analysed and a final decision made. If an Admin is not around at the time of playing and the players cannot agree on a result, continue with the rest of the series and if the series is tied 2-2 at the end, then the final game shall be rescheduled.
