BasicallyBebeIt is with great pleasure that I announce my next tournament - Rookie Rivals! This event is targeted at players with an elo of below 1000 who are looking to join a tournament with the intention to learn more about the game/drafting/strategy, and meet fellow Age enthusiasts in the process!
Rookie Rivals is a simple double elimination tournament where players choose a Home Map Set (HMS) for the entirety of the event. The HMS options are as follows: Hybrid, Water, Open Land, Closed Land, and Chaos. Players can choose a HMS that they feel suits their playstyle (or alternatively, one they feel is a weakness that they hope to improve upon), and will go into each match up knowing the HMS of their opponents. This creates an environment where players can feel comfortable and confident with their maps, and less intimidated about how to prepare for their opponent’s maps.

There is no minimum elo, however players must join with the intention to compete.
Your highest elo reached cannot be above 1050.
You must have 10 1v1 RM games on your account prior to sign-ups closing.
Accounts created after the 30th of May will not be accepted.
Players suspected of smurfing will be disqualified as a preventative measure.
Water: Team Islands, Water Nomad, Nile Delta.
Open Land: Arabia, Atacama, Acropolis.
Closed Land: Arena, Oasis, Regicide Fortress.
Chaos: Megarandom, Land Madness, Socotra.
All HMS choices will be public. Once sign ups close your HMS cannot be changed.
All rounds are BO3 (Best of Three) until; Semifinals BO5; Finals BO5 or BO7 (players can choose).
Higher seeded player is player A, lower seeded player is player B.
Game 1 map is determined by: of the remaining home map sets (those which players have not chosen as their HMS), player A bans a HMS, player B bans a HMS, continued until one HMS remains. Of those 3 maps in the remaining HMS, player A bans one, player B bans one, and the remaining map is played. If you need clarification about this, please ask in Discord.
Game 2 map: Loser of G1 chooses a map from their HMS.
Game 3 map: Loser of G2 chooses a map from their HMS.
For BO5 sets:
Game 4 map: Loser of G3 chooses an unused map from their HMS.
Game 5 map: Loser of G4 chooses an unused map from their HMS.
For BO7 sets:
Game 6 map: Played on the final unused map from the loser of G5’s HMS.
Game 7 map: Played on the final unused map from the loser of G6’s HMS.
Sign-ups close Wednesday 8th June (@ 23:59gmt).
Bracket released Thursday 9th June.
Round 1 begins Friday 10th June.
