Not the last, but the first Age of Empires II 3v3 tournament of 2022:

The Return of the Clans.​

No invitations, no Arabia, 13 maps, some classic, some variations, and a few new ones.

Open to 64 teams, $5000 prize pool sponsored by @enmipho, one round per week, starting on January 31st.

- 1st place: $1500
- 2nd place: $1000
- 3rd+4th: 2x $500
- 5th-8th: 4x $250
- 9th-12th (group stage 3rd): 4x $125

The fact that we didn't see archs + scouts every single game made this tournament an amazing one. Had tons of fun playing the map pool. I hope there is a second edition somewhere in the future.

 

Great tournament, provided alot of fun to watch games.

Maybe the "small" prizepool helped in lighten the mood and let people focus on gameplay.
No multipage dramas, no endless discussions about settings or sth being unfair.

The only reason to watch the games, were the games itself. Players and casters.

Back to the roots, remembered peiple why we love this game and spend so much time with it.
