Not the last, but the first Age of Empires II 3v3 tournament of 2022:

The Return of the Clans.​

No invitations, no Arabia, 13 maps, some classic, some variations, and a few new ones.

Open to 64 teams, $5000 prize pool sponsored by @enmipho, one round per week, starting on January 31st.

Was hoping for GL to win, but amazing matches regardless.

3v3 TGs offer the best entertainment, (4v4 BF is the exception 11).

Great to know that the viewership hit 14K+ or even 15K+
I checked the viewers immediately after the finals was over, and it was 10.2K in twitch. So peak was probably higher.
Hope this means that MS sponsors the next RoTC and we get an S tier tournament.

Absolutely incredible tournament. 3v3 is an awesome format, and it really made for great team games. Broke up the normal scouts/archers meta
Also great diversity in maps that made for amazing games.
All around amazing tournament and super well done by the organizers

I am going to catch on VODs, but really happy for organizers about the result.

 

Such a great tournament! Thanks for organizing it and thanks to the players for great entertainment. I think we had very nice series this tournament, overall pretty high level of AOE 2. The semi finals and finals were top tier aoe 2 entertainment. I can only recommend everyone who has not seen those games to take a look.

Some specific feedback on the maps:
I think the map pool overall was fantastic, but I felt like Colosseum was the only map not really providing interesting/diverse games. It was the same every time and for me it got a bit boring. I also felt like there was no to little room for comebacks on that one.

 

Sadly only could watch the semifinals and final, as I was busy, but all 3 series were absolutely spectacular and mind-blowing. Beatufiul tournament.

For me MBL was the MVP of the final for his game deciding plays.

Great viewer numbers for a 5k event, I believe it would be more if there was some promotion of it on reddit. We have so many events going on in aoe2 and on reddit people just keep talking about new civ ideas

Yep. I expected Lierry to be MVP if AM won.

But MBL was definitely the MVP for his overall performance. Did amazing except in arena.

Heartt MVP in the only game he played in the finals. Takes some special skill to do that 11

Not sure whether I have ever heard the words "practice" and "DauT" in one sentence.

 

Awesome tournament, most fun in a long time and while I did enjoy the final, I thought that the semifinals on Saturday were actually even better, both sets.
The first 3-4 matches of GL - WWP were providing some of the greatest high level team game matches in a long time and Deceptive Baguettes were super close to winning this one too. I don't think I have ever watched that much Age of Empires 2 on a stream (almost 9h+ straight).

Great tournament, great maps and amazing organization, it's a shame that this tournament didn't get as much fundings as other 1v1 events but it shows that more than the money sometimes matters the quality of settings to give motivation

 

Amazing tournament. I love how Huehuecoyotl always delight us with some different settings and unconventional maps, and yet so he always manages to deliver competitive tournaments.
Also, super work from Nova. I'm happy to see you're finally gaining the recognition you deserve from this community
