After a deep study into aoc and the all the previous threads, I think most of the community will agree on some changes like these:
•Vikings, team bonus reduced to 15% and only 15% cheaper ships
•Chineses starts with +25 food
•Huns CA bonuses reduced to 15% cheap CA in castle age and only 25% on imperial age.
•Fireships moves 15% faster
•Stonewalls lost half of the HP during feudal age, same cost and build time.
•Aztks lost automatic loom upgrade now they need to research it, starts with 150 gold, and their creation time bonus starts in feudal age.
•Conquers speed reduced during castle age, Elite conquer same speed
•Boar +7 attack vs scout +10 vs eagle warrior
•Disable coinage for all civs, banking is available for all in castle age.
Some of those changes are the good stuff from aofe and from ferdinand’s bros, that reduces the gap a little and doesn’t not interfere in any specific player style unless vietnamitan style…
But being honest I think the real problem goes beyond, for example we have Turks and they are the only civ that can’t counter itself, that’s why they are so bad for 1x1 in general; Water units doesn’t have proper counters that’s why we only see one unit on water, the technologies added in AoC boosted a lot some civs like mongs and damaged civs like byz and teuts, we all know the frustration of being byz pkt and having weak knight line and bad paladin, the developer from ES didn’t test how the new tecs would affect all aok civs, in order to make the new 5 civs attractive they left behind old civs.
I think we need to boost almost all aok civs and change some stuff in order to make all civs shine without making them OP, and allow new strats and more variation in matches, I hate when im picking random civ and the other guy picks mirror =/ that’s a crime it makes the game very bored, but if I got Koreans and he gets aztks my chances of winning are like 10%, so instead of getting fun I will get my ass kicked wich isn’t funny and goal of the game is to get fun and entertainment using brain.
I want to know your opinion in general about the idea of increasing the strength of some civs to make them pickables in 1x1 and fair in tgs, without lose their originality, being 100% impartial and serious and specially from players with high experience and decent level in order to avoid 300 pages of trash content, so try to justify any idea or change.
For example I would give Elite skirmisher for turks, now they can counter their artillery with trash units, giving pikeman or halbs makes them way OP, but only giving them Elite skirms doesn’t really affect other civs.
I would give byzantines bloodlines and reduces 10 HP from ECata, in that way Byzantines are no longer a camel civ in castle age and their paladin becomes strong, this changes doesn’t affect 1x1 match ups but it really helps in TGs.
For Teutons I would give them bracer and light cavalry upgrade, because in aok without bloodlines or hussar upgrade it wasn’t so bad but in aoc their late imperial is pain in the ass compared to other civs, also it doesn’t make them OP instead of that they become more versatile, I have more ideas based in all my years playing my experience in aok and aoc, since the team gamer experience is better to understand all civs, but first I want to check.
I would like to read your thoughts, if we should go for a very small patch like the first suggestions or go further?
