Expanding the Main Event​

There has been much discussion regarding the most recent update where we, unfortunately, had to let ACCM go. In his stead, we picked Capoch to play instead.
ACCM was an invited player determined by previous Red Bull Wololo performance, which means we used the same approach to select the player replacing him.
We had previously spoken to dogao, who were unable to go, which means he was skipped in this consideration. Instead, we reached out to TheMax. Unfortunately, he declined our invitation, and so the next person on the list was Capoch, hence why he was picked.

We did, however, have an oversight in this process. With COVID-19, restrictions and requirements change constantly, and it can be challenging to keep track of all of it. It was later discovered that the complications regarding travels from Brazil had changed and that dogao should have been considered before Capoch.
Needless to say, this error was unintentional and had considerable consequences for dogao.

To correct this mistake, we will be expanding the main event with two players, landing on a total of fourteen. The reason for expanding the event with two spots is that an even number of participants are required for our planned tournament format.
Dogao has been invited to take one of these spots, and we are currently making sure there are no further complications with his travel.

Furthermore, while we want to reward great and consistent performances in previous Red Bull Wololo events, we are also thriving to bring you a great competition. That is why the remaining spot will be decided by a conclusive match between Kasva and Barles that both ended up making it all the way to the deciding matches in the qualification stage. We are currently finding a date and time very soon in which this match is going to be played.

I don't think last changes are doing any good. Fine, you want to organize LAN event now, it's pretty likely you'll face difficult decisions, but you knew that. It's obvious some people will be unhappy about those. But for that, there are admins deciding the rules, not the majority. However, it seems whenever there's a decision, if enough people complain about it, settings will change. So who's making the decisions in the end? Let alone that changing rules of the qualifier after it's been played is weird, unprofessional and far from transparent. When top players have more and more influence (and we saw it recently in a negative way), where do you think decision like this leads?

Let alone at this rate, both Kasva and Barles have a secured ticket anyways + everyone from QFs + Bugum..

Isn't it possible that they realized they made a mistake and fixed it? It doesn't mean they change their mind every time someone complained... If that were the case, the even would be online and bugum would have played on Sunday.

While in general you are right but in this case it was just not a fair and understandable decision therefore protests were neccessary and took place with right intentions. Most people said a decider between Kasva and Barles would be fair and this is from an outside point of view the right call.

Since Red Bull wants as many viewers as possible and a positive image they had to rethink their decision.
Nobody want to get left behind with negative associations.

I don't think community complaints had much to do with it. Dogao was next in line according to their own system. Just realizing that he could be available now contrary to what has been said before would be enough to reconsider a decision.
It should not be a bad thing to fix your mistakes.

there is only one reason the german authorities would not allow people from certain countries to enter the country and that is if a new corona mutation would take over in that country. and since there is not even knowledge about a new potentially more dangerous mutation of that virus, the chances that a countries corona cases will be dominated by that version within the next two weeks and have the government react in that time are extremely low. so there is very low risk in that regard.

People change, the game changes, civilizations change, but these rules don't. Every player has to do his best to prove himself again before the tournament. As a community, we need to get rid of these ridiculous and stereotypical tournament rules.
