It's currently a bug.In Empire War you start with extra vills as Chinese and Mayans AND 200 starting food.
Seems pretty unfair to start with 3 extra vills for free as Chinese. It would be very appreciated if you guys could look into that.
Or is it intentional?
IVikings free wheelbarrow matches their standard feudal civ bonus. Since players usually hit feudal before 27 vills (assuming 21), they actually lose a few (~50) resources.
Mayans lose some of their bonus since +1 vill at 3 pop is worse than +1 vill +50 food at 27. That 1 vill would collect ~200 res in the 10 minutes game-time.
Chinese, in addition to the usual bonus now get +200 food, +50 wood, +1 vill @30 (before, they had to do instant loom) vs the ~400 res that those 2 vills would have collected in the 10 minutes game-time. It's a trade of +1 vill @30 (empire wars) vs +150 res (standard start). In addition, they get a less awkward early feudal.
Incas, lose their llama, still bullshit.
I take my comment back and believe the Chinese bonus is comparable to standard settings. They still win out slightly, and are already a top tier civ that would have been picked with standard settings. An ideal situation would be to have the 8 hand picked players vote (before Q1) on a global ban @Nili_AoE
aoezone link on toornament is broken. There is extra ) in link
It will be a win for the higher score. A tie is no option due to time constraints (and also doesn't make any sense cause you would have achieved nothing)Question about time limit:
When it runs out, is it a tie? Or a win for the higher score even if it’s only higher momentarily or by a few hundreds?
Imo, it should only be a win for the higher score only if it’s higher by 25 or 30%. Else a tie. Knowing how late game can play out, it’s not fair and proper to assume a winner in a 10k vs 11k score.
A tie would be problematic for BO1 and BO3 I suppose, not for BO7 games. It will be a win for the higher score. A tie is no option due to time constraints (and also doesn't make any sense cause you would have achieved nothing)
The point is that a tie literally gives you nothing. If you have enough time for another game, you could as well just let them play the game. It would also lead to way more unfair results than otherwise (Games being interrupted despite one player having a signifcant advantage).A tie would be problematic for BO1 and BO3 I suppose, not for BO7 games.
They should increase the time limit more, don’t wanna see that mixer show match style stupidity.
@robo who is in charge of accepting sign ups , i have signed up yesterday and i don't know if my sign up was accepted or not , and if not , are there any rules/guidelines on who can or cannot sign up ?
Overall it is unlikely that much harm will come from playing this way, yeah. The risk, hovewer, will still be there.Red Bull tournament has 60 minutes time limit, when mixer tournament had 40 minutes with dark age. In the Mixer tournament going Imperial age effected sometimes score when time ran out. There shouldn't be that in Red Bull Empire wars. So Mixer tournament's time limit was way too short, but this seems fine and could work properly. When all players know that time is limited, they can adjust their strategies with it. Seems fair. Time limit shortens post-imp trash wars, but makes map control even more important.
I don't want that time limit will be new standard setting in all tournament, but I don't see how it harm this tournament.
It created a really clutch moment tho. Besides, the KD was bugged back then.Everyone who watched the viper-mixer-tournement knows how bad a timelimit is. It can destroy the whole event.
Wait they did a time limit event Mixer while everyone knew KD was bugged ? WTFIt created a really clutch moment tho. Besides, the KD was bugged back then.
