Both semifinals will be played at the same time, and the 2nd will be cast as recorded games.

Appreciate the positivity here, thanks! I take full blame for any disappointment regarding the interviews. When I was doing them - it was my first time ever interviewing people, and I know I could've done a much better job. I was nervous that I wouldn't be asking good questions, and honestly it's hard to do the best job I wanted to at 3am onwards haha. When the casters were doing it - they straight up shouldn't have been, that's not their job, but they were covering for me when I was sick. It would've been extremely hard for them to cast long sets and then immediately have to switch over to 'interview mode' without having had the time to prepare questions in advance like I did. So I'm super grateful for them doing that with little-to-no notice.

No blame and I'm looking forward to seeing how it evolves.

So many of the player interviewers feel a bit cold and dry, i suppose it takes time for someone to feel comfortable in the presence of an interviewer and be willing to open up more.

The post-game winner interviews are those rare moments in which players are bubbling with emotion and too often interviewers pour cold water on this by asking, "why player X didn't do double bit-axe until min 16", or "why 1 range skirms instead of 2 in game 4?"

When Daut has triumphed in major tournament for the first time in most viewers' living memory, I want to hear him say that this is best day of his life (even though he's married with kids )!
When Villese has just won the biggest game of his life and confidence is surging through his veins and spilling out of his mouth, I want him to tell us that his next opponent will be crushed into dust and he'll win the whole thing.
When Capoch has been victorious in a roller-coaster of a Bo3 elimination, I want to know how it compares to taking a penalty in a stadium full of screaming football fans.

We went from never having any interaction with the players a few years ago, to a point of almost saturation now with streams, tournament web-cams and interviews... but I still don't feel like I know anything about most of them.

I'd love for someone to really focus on interviewing as a skill because I don't think anyone is currently excelling at it.

Agreed. I like game recap interviews (with strategy etc.) knowing you have several more series to go, and while introducing players to what's going on. After huge victories I like the emotional interviews. "How are you feeling right now?" "What was going through your head when you realized you were about to pull this off?" And after a grand final, the most I want to see individual game recaps is for special moments like: "When you realized he had Tatars for the last game of a best of seven on a Tatars-favorable map, what was going through your head?"

I did love the parts of, for instance, the Villese interview where we learn he played 20+ games before his match as warm-up after breaking his mouse. And DauT's thought process about Mayans.

Robo once said it is one of the most viewed events on RedBull’s twitch.

Anecdotally, I caught the semi-finals of the Valorant event that followed RBW3 and they had like 12k. I don’t know if that was just the beginning of the stream and the numbers were still rising though.
I believe we had around 15k for the RBW3 semi-finals.

The only thing I saw from Liltrouble was a pre-game Interview with DauT and I thought she was excellent.
She obviously had done her research which lead to one particularly interesting answer from DauT where he explained why he thought Huns are the best civ in Kawasan.

Many times the interviewee is just as much or more to blame for a bad interview as the interviewer.
If players only give 1 word answers, brag about not practicing for the event, sound bored throughout, etc. there’s not much anyone can do to turn that into an interesting conversation.

On another note, Nili, T90 & Dave‘s casting was great throughout, per usual.

It’s funny to me, that it does feel like they still struggle to keep the conversation flowing during pre-game phases, but as soon as the game starts you can tell they are back in their environment and things work much more naturally.
