Settings - Install - Recorded Games - Brackets​

Recorded games will be posted in this thread as soon as possible after they are played.

The first round games are played on the UP 1.5 Beta version R1, and the finals are played on version R4. You will need to select this patch in the Settings menu of a Voobly lobby in order to watch the games. If you need to download these earlier betas, follow scripter's instructions here: https://www.aoczone.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=135106#p541130

Please note: the recorded game files don't go in the normal savegame folder, but need to be placed in the WololoKingdoms savegame folder.
From inside of your aoe2 folder, the path should be

Voobly Mods\AOC\Data Mods\WololoKingdoms\SaveGame

Note that patch 5.5 was just released on Steam. This balance version is now the default version when you run the installer. If you want to watch the recs of NaBs vs Nervo, you'll need to select the option to install a data mod for 5.4 when running the installer. Then make sure you place the recorded games specifically in the 5.4 savegame folder.

A bit sad for me not to see actual competitive maps like ara/migra/islands /arena /etc but instead get to see Socotra which doesn't showcase the civs at all imo, every civ in the game can do towers lol. Enemy Archipelago was nice to watch. For Sandbank I guess I would've rather seen teamislands, I personally think Special Maps don't offer real competitive playground it's mainly just something u play on the side when you're really bored (might just be me).

Aside from that, expected result with the amount of talent and skill Nervo brings to the table ggwp and I hope next series we at least get to game 4 and see Arabia! thx for hosting this, it's nice exposure nonetheless for the expansions :D

I dont know how pros feel about playing Socotra, but it seems to me that for this map is not good for competitions. The only valid strategy as of now seems to be only feudal tower rush and it doesnot even look good for watching.

I would make the land a little bit larger and also replace all the water with a forest. Otherwise the map will run out of wood before 1h of game.

The other two maps are great and I think many strategies can be used in both of them, specially sandbank. Tbh I don't know how come that in all these 20 years playing aoc we have never seen enemy archipelago before (or, at least, I didn't). It's a very complicated map in which 1 mistake can cost you lose either your fish or your land. It's great.

In these 3 games I have had way more fun than in the whole nations cup 2017 and any other aoc tournament played over the last years (except EGC, which wasn't standard aoc). So many new civs and maps are very refreshing for me after so many years playing the same thing. I hope we get to see WK played as much as aoc in voobly very soon. If I had to choose one i'd go for the first one with no doubt.

They are of course four amazing players with two of them (at least) having good experience and knowledge of the expansion civs so we were always up against it!
Even so these games were weirdly fun to play in rather then the usual same old crap tournament settings that got boring (for me) long ago. I thank you for the invite and apologize that as a team we were unable to prepare in a good way.
