AOE-II Recommended mods

I havent played this game in a while and i want to start again. Recommended mods tend to change over time. So is there a list of recommended mods?

No Intro can be done through steam by adding SKIPINTRO into the Start parameters of the game. No need for a mod. (unless you use Microsoft Store 11)
How is "No more plants" not mandatory to you?

Seems like i got most of them already. Some of them doesnt really seems recommended at all. I cant imagine playing with cube fish. That is so ugly.

Any version of small trees, no useless plants and no snow are the only ones I would call mandatory.
Grid mod used to be mandatory, but it got added to the settings now

I only have small trees. I think I have grid mod enabled when building stuff, but that's about it... Don't know why you'd need all those other mods, or even what they do for that matter.

As a sidenote, I do sometimes accidentaly place towers in range of tc's, so you could make an argument for the range indicator thing, but I just don't like it. If we're going for total optimalisation, you can just as well install cube mod or something...

That is an old list. Things like these change a lot over time in my experience. Once in a while someone make a better version of an existing mod. So the new mod become popular, while the old mod got outdated.

Recently found a mod for smaller berrie bushes. Sth like "small bushes". Incredibly helpful to see the shape of the berries and for quickwalling vills, especially on hills.

Saw it first in saymynames stream.

+1 TC orbit should be banned.
A version with any other map is also feasible, you just need to go on the map script and find the appropriate orbit of TC spawns for any map. It can be also done for teamgames.
