That guy is just toxic just put him on the ignore list. Can someone fill me in on the backstory here?
Arena is a fixed map and wasn't even in the top 3 most played maps the last couple of months so they are failing there. The map pool needs to be a reflection of the average taste of all the players.
I do not think we can easily say this nor is it really good justification for the level of imbalance that we currently have. However like you say ideally this will be moot soon. The map pool needs to be a reflection of the average taste of all the players. I think we can easily say most players prefer land maps, so having 5 out 7 land maps makes sense to me. Since the map pool needs for me a reflection of the average taste of all players, i do really support the idea of some kind of voting system the devs will implement (still not sure how they will do this).
Four Lakes is a "hybrid" map only in the loosest sense of the word. The water has essentially no relevance beyond being a source of fast food income for players to fight over. This feels limited and boring in comparison to any one of the numerous superior alternatives where it influences map control on a meaningful way.Calling Four lakes the most boring hybrid map, is also an opinion of you. For me it is one of the best hybrid maps. So also this is subjective.
not sure if the definition of a 'hybrid map' is whether you can grush or notThe problem is that 4 Lakes is taking up the space for the "hybrid map" when it's actually a land map with some fish in the corner that's easily walled. If you can't grush it's not really a hybrid map. If they put it in as a hideout or arena replacement it would be fine.
For me it goes like this:not sure if the definition of a 'hybrid map' is whether you can grush or not
I think he is simply neglecting to differentiate between any one of the several civs that let you bully your opponent off the gold with your powerful naval units. I would say this is real variety but I happen to enjoy abusing broken naval units more than I should (note: this is distinct from engaging in the inanity of the feudal water meta we all suffer through because someone refuses to admit that adding a gunpowder unit two ages before you can research Chemistry was maybe a mistake) so I can see how someone less inclined to this playstyle or being a responsible intellectual would consider it false.Okay plese tell me what the best civ is on Golden Swamp.
This is exactly what I envision Reddit discussions sound like based on how frequently people disparage that venue. I would be embarrassed if I liked this post.Pls don't listen to someone who can't type a normal title of his rage thread

I think he meant more voting on a per game basis than allowing community input on a set rotation?
