Random Everything Deluxe Cup

A tournament hosted by the creator of the ‘random_everything’ map-script to celebrate the launch of the brand-new rework “Random Everything Deluxe”


The Map:

The random_everything map-script uses features from UserPatch 1.5 that allow for the craziest game modes and map generations, all randomly generated. With the RandomEverthingDeluxe (R.E.D) version all expansion DLC is included in the mapscript.

Tournament Format:

The script works on any version of the game, but to fully utilize all possibilities it will be played on Voobly 1.5 with WololoKingdoms mod.

The tournament will have as primary goal to showcase this entertaining map-script, and to bring communities together.

The Settings for the tournament are pretty unique and will fit the chaotic randomly generated maps:
Random Civ, (semi-)Random Seeding, (semi-)Random Price Money.


The Tournament includes:
  • Two Single elimination 1v1
    • 16-32 participants (high bracket, 1.7k+)
    • 16-32 participants (low bracket, 1.7k-)
  • Three CtR/KotH matches
    • 8 player FFA showmatch (1.9k+)
    • 8 player FFA showmatch (1.5-1.9k)
    • 8 player FFA showmatch (<1.5k)
  • Price Pool Rolling Events
    • Using random number generator software, or analogue: using Dices, Playing Carts or Bingo Machine??
  • Prediction contest?
  • Interviews?


Price Money:

The price money is semi-randomly distributed over the winners (see table).

Donations to contribute to the price pool are warmly welcome:

Streaming and Videos:

The games will be open for spectators (1:30min delay). Having Voobly with the WololoKingdoms mod is required to be able to spectate.

The event is open to be streamed by any twitch streamer (under the game AgeOfEmpire2). Also, the games are free to be uploaded to your own YouTube channel. Leave a comment in the streaming section to get listed as an official streamer, and to notify what matches you are planning to cover.

POV-streaming:

Point of View Streaming (POV) is allowed with this tournament. Since the tournament is for fun and I don’t expect try-harding “stream-snipers”, there will be no restrictions to stream-delay.

Nice! Looking forward to this :D

What does this mean?
It means the winners will get a random amount of pricemoney between the maximum and minumum value.

I've added a table above that shows an example.

With this format I might have to jump in to fill missing pricemoney, or I might be left with money, which isn't ideal.. another option would be to have a random amount for the winner, then the 2nd place gets a random value of what's left, and the 3th place gets the leftovers.

I hope there are some good signups for the high bracket :smile:
I loved to watch games on the old random everything extreme map and hope this will be as crazy and insane as the other maps.

Hey, any links to the maps played ? (Sorry if I missed it somewhere)
Random everything extreme = totally random generated terrains with varying starting units and res. There arent specific maps, this isnt a mappack.
The map script will indeed generate completely random maps, in that sence it is different from the mappacks like "megarandom" which are a selection of maps.

The script is still under construction, but I will post it as soon as it is finished. For those who want to practice on it (there will be millions of possible map generations, so you really can't practice) I will try to have the map available a week or two prior to the start of the tournament (that will also give me time to test the mapscript for bugs).

I will create a topic where you can download the map script and which lists the features and other usefull information about the map at the end of this week.

For now you can try the previous version ( download here ) to find out how random the map generations can be.

Using random number generator software, or analogue: using Dices, Playing Carts or Bingo Machine??
The way you can do this is as follows. Some portion of the money is fixed anyways, so you ignore that.
You give each player some number of "lottery tickets" equal to the maximum amount of money they could earn. This will currently be 216 lottery tickets. Then, you randomly select 108 out of those lottery tickets, and those will translate to real dollars.

On randomizer.org, you put in sets=1, numbers per set=108, number range=216, unique and sorted.
Say, your numbers were: 1, 4, 7, 9, 10, 12, 15, 16, 17, 19, 21, 23, 27, 29, 31, 35, 36, 37, 38, 45, 47, 48, 50, 51, 52, 54, 58, 59, 61, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 70, 72, 76, 77, 78, 80, 81, 83, 85, 89, 90, 91, 94, 99, 100, 107, 108, 109, 110, 111, 113, 114, 119, 125, 127, 128, 130, 131, 136, 137, 138, 140, 141, 142, 143, 145, 148, 149, 150, 151, 152, 153, 156, 159, 162, 164, 165, 167, 168, 169, 172, 173, 174, 176, 177, 178, 180, 182, 183, 185, 186, 187, 191, 192, 195, 196, 197, 198, 202, 203, 204, 206, 207
Place 1 gets 75$ + number of values between 0 and 75 (inclusive), which are 37. So 112$ in total.
Place 2 gets 15$ + number of values between 76 and 88, which are 7, so 22$ in total.
Place 3 gets 0$ + number of values between 89 and 103, which are 6, so 6$ in total.
etc.

This way you guarantee that you spend exactly 300$ for prices.
