Imagine pop limit is 1000, goths would be at 1000 pop while other civs are all around 400 probably. VGG!

depends need space to make houses, but yeah goth will keep massing way faster than any other civ. I think huns will have huge advantage on 1k pop too.

I'm no expert but I believe the game would become seriously unbalanced when you go over 250+ pop ??

So, I dont see a real need for any pop above 250 except for perhaps 1000 and it could be used in "just4fun-games" between good friends etc...

Im not sure I understand what you're trying to say here...? Noobs never utilize the 200pop but need a patch for 300pop?

I dont think I've ever played michi mp unless it was some sort of testing involved. I'm not sure I follow your logic nor see your point....

My point was simply that pop > 250 will seriously unbalance the game (I think), and for ANY player regardless of rating - and that if any patch is to be released it should only open for 225 and 250. ...and perhaps 1000 just for those fun-only games I mentioned.

I see. I get it. Still; its not like they *have* to use higher pop. They can use 200 (still std), 100 or 50 for all I care. The point is to make it possible for those that actually is able to utilize it.

Well, its a free world. Those that wants to play BF/Michi or Arabia/Arena should be able to do so - regardless of skill - AND be able to play 25 pop or 1000 IMO :smile:

A problem would come with army control. Right now it's rare that you get 40+ of a single unit (at the same time), and when you do it's annoying. With 200 pop it's rare to see armies that are bigger than 80 units total, that's two groups. With 300 pop you'd see armies of around 120 pop, three groups, even more annoying to control but still doable. With 1000 pop sending out your 400 pop army would take ages. Also units such as SO, scorps and all ranged units would be much better while melee units would get worse (that's an argument that should help keep Goth in check).

since each group holds 40 and u have 1-9 u have 360 pop to put into control, and the rest u can just put on patrol defensive defending ur base, so when u go idle military they don't pop up.

But yeah it'd be "annoying", but not a problem. 300pop I think would be enough for giant map, anything more u'd have problems with lag and space and the game would finish b4 u even got their.

4 pages of this 11, nobody is going to get into aoc codes just to change pop limit to make a new game that everyone will have to download to and finally patch it on voobly to play...

Is actually pretty easy and Voobly allows modification that does not change the graphics. Just for general information.

_DK_ a general advice for you that may be useful in all sorts of situation in life is to simply move on when you find something you dont find interesting or boring. Saves you time and also energy. Same with TV-shows; if you dont like it, just switch chan - dont keep on watching and then go online complaining about it - you complaining accomplishes....nothing. Trust me: I'll still be discussing it no matter how much you complain.

Now, about the grouping (limit 40), that should/could (?) be adjusted as well - what would be an ideal number you think?

1000 pop limit has been already done, its bullshit thou, i played it offline for fun and my comp been lagging on 600 pop... games engine is not able to handle so much units

Yeah, 4v4, 7-8k units...

Still, there's no harm in having the *option* to do it - in say 1v1 fungame betw friends. The standard will still be 200.

I know I'd like to see a rec of two experts on a closed landmap using 1000pop - think it could be fun to watch :smile:
