Actually I never really figured out the pattern of how players are placed depending on their colour.
My buddies and I choose same numbers/colours, locked teams, despite that we never are placed the same way.
It is a good question, if anyone can shed some light on the matter, please do so!
"How does colour affect player positioning?''
haha, he says its depended on the first letter in each name in clock order or anti-clock order? does it means its fully randomize ? 11
but i hv done enough fully random games, random teams i mean, like 4vs4, if the names r unchanged in 10 games (likely for wht i rembered), the first order and the last order according to the sequence on the first letter of the 8 players' name, 90% they r team together(9 games they r together).
i find its funny, i still cant figure out, but i surely believe, names n color, hv sth to do with teaming n position.
more than that, in these 10 games, 9 games of the first order named and the last order named players in 4vs4 will never be flanks together or pocket together.
10 games is small data, need enough data base to prove, but who care, who will spend times on these instead improving on the skills? 11
I think its based on your nick as he said. On my college , when we play on LAN and if we make a certain team then I always got flank irrespective of civ or color. Damn! Never thought it is due to my nick!
Well I have had this same question, answered many times. The best answer I got said it depends on ur IP and the colour/number order of ur team. I have never tested, but I am sure there is a way to test. Who really cares though - unless ur wanting to cheat in a tourney.
I know somethings, like p1 p2 and p7 have more posibilities of being pocket. It depends on the combination of Civs and colors as well most of times. Also the middle colour of the team is flank. (p2, p4, p7--> p4 one flank)
Also, Huns blue mong 3 and Maya/China 5 most of times hun pocket. Mong blue= most of times flank. Mong p6/p7= most of times pocket. China and Hun p1/p7= pocket. Maya=4 flank.
i think it is not about color or name but about ip or something like that. i'm used to play with some friends in tgs with diffenrent name/color but i am always pocket or flank of the same guy (about 8-0)
in history 1st you know things by experience, then you find the theory or the strict rule
here we don't even have the same feelings about positions with color/ip/name so i don't think even like that this topic will success anywhere to make a strict rule
i would love to see strict rules said by the guys who posted but i doubt about that happening :D
there is no way to predict exactly the pkt place in 3x3 normally it is the host also for 4x4, but changing teams and colors may vary, as you can see all top players during wcl had this trouble TIm was the only one who was in pkt place like 17/20 games, no one figured it out and he failed in the most important matches 11111
you can try this it works for me 6/10 games... me host color blue team number 3, as the enemy cyan and purple are almost always in pkt place.
