As far as i know he is allowed to co-cast on voobly official when ever he likes. Today if he was casting on his private channel he would have 1,000 viewers or more but this would damage voobly's viewers to maybe just 180 (instead of 600) so Zak would benefit from this event which is nice but he would also be taking some of the benefit away from voobly also. That is the dilemma we face gentleman

I think Zak needs to be clear about the terms in which he offered to cast these Tyrant games? Did he offer to pay to cast? Would he be willing to cast for voobly and if not why?

Shady **** by Zero here, not sure why he feels so entitled to get stuff for free. That doesnt seem to be fair, as if Zak gets to cast it then i'd like to cast it as well please, for free.

I never got whether casting on his own channel is what makes or breaks the deal for Zak, but I completely understand the sponsor does not want private channels to stream this, as allowing some to stream on their own channel and denying others is not fair either.

I thought when Zak posted this he was denied streaming this regardless, however, Voobly claims he was allowed to stream on their channel, so now I am confused.

I was speaking in general, for Voobly events funded by community money, anyone from the community can stream on the Voobly channel.

I don't have the background for this event, it wasn't sponsored by Voobly events funds, so the TyRant War sponsor gets the final call. It sounded like the main requirement was a single stream, so a co-cast with katsuni and Zak might have been OK. But, I wasn't involved in those discussions. I don't think it needs to be as black and white as we must have two channels...

Shady indeed.. his video is misleading, so to those of you who are just saying "signed", the sponsor didn't actually deny zak from casting the tyrant games on voobly channel, just his private one..
I have nothing against Zero empires he is my favourite streamer by a mile but he handled this very badly indeed.

In my opinion this is a very feeble attempt to blackmail the sponsor to allow him to stream by making a video that indirectly encourages his followers to say they won't watch unless Zero is streaming..

Voobly and Zero should really make an agreement to share money/whatever else and just let Zero stream the main events like this on vooblychannel. If it's only about money from both sides.

Today's event was great, but... it could've been much better with Zero&BBQ commentating this. Think of us, the viewers!

I want to clarify a few things here because people clearly have mis-information or have mis-interpreted something along the lines. It seems like somehow whenever a controversial thread pops up a huge amount of BS is injected from somewhere and people start to take opinion as fact.

This was the message I received on the matter:
"Hey, there will be only one stream this time, and they've given the permission to Katsuni."
That was all I was told, no reason and no update from the Sponsor himself giving me permission to stream anywhere. So it is not true at all that i could have just streamed on Voobly. I have still had no response form the Sponsor or any TyRanT members even now.

The petition was purely to show the sponsor that by allowing two streams the event could reach a larger audience. I would also like to add that I have no disrespect for the sponsor, and those saying that this is disrespectful to him I have to disagree; it is a great thing that he has sponsored these events but that does not mean that the execution of them could not be better.

As for encouraging people to say that they won't watch unless I stream, again I disagree. These are the opinions of many individuals and at no point have I said anything about boycotting the stream; only to speak out if you believe that multiple streams would be better. By multiple streams I also don't just mean my stream, I mean any stream that has a following, what about other communities that mostly don't speak English etc?

I don't see why money always has to be involved either, people seem to think that the stream brings in hundreds and thousands of dollars in revenue... man, I wish. Any ad revenue earned on the stream will hardly pay this months electricity bill... let alone anything else. The sheer amount of hours I put into this for the last 3 years and making nothing from it, yet people still seem to adamant that it's about money; cmon it's ridiculous.
And all of this whilst the players are earning many many multiples the amount of $ than the streamers who make the events reachable to a wider audience. It's a two way street guys and I have no shame in taking home a few dollars every month for the huge amount of effort that I've put into this for the last few years.

Ok Zak thank you for the clarification. I also agree that you deserve to be streaming the big events and it's a real shame that you weren't able to get involved with this one. You are the most popular aoc commentator and hopefully voobly is doing its best to provide you with these events that can benefit both the community and also you for the hard work that you put in .

I don't see why he wasn't allowed to stream either, but once it was established that he wouldn't be streaming he could have taken it with a little more grace. Instead of just directing his followers to the Tyrant wars he starts streaming HD games concurrently, and even when he finished doing so still couldn't bring himself to mention Voobly's stream.

The Katsuni streams are usually conversations between 4+ commentators which gets really annoying OR you have to listen to a woman speak NON STOP for 2 hours. Nonsensical = worst commentator out there, not even sure why Voobly is allowing the streams to suck so much.

I think all aoc-led efforts, tournaments and available hands (workers) should be working with Voobly to coordinate not only the survival but the growth of AoC, of its player base and of its competition.

There has been multiple attempts over the years by individuals to destabilize Voobly or split the AoC Community (Cysion with the AoEFE gameranger fiasco, steam etc for personal gain).

Zak I've met you during your first days in AoC, you were part of the DM community for a while and were beginning to stream matches. I've always liked you but I'm pretty certain your posts in the past indicated that you were always siding with Gameranger/Cysion/steam, from what I've seen you're a very pro "freedom of speech/activity/to choose" person, however...

Voobly is not a corporation or a private business, it's essentially a COOP, an autonomous association of aoc gamers, fans who cooperate to maintain, improve and promote AoC. It was established by gamers, it's run for gamers by gamers.

Quite often, successful COOP are threatened by bigger companies takeover, or simply private companies or corporations moving in on the market share (Hello Steam!).

You are essentially a private company at this point Zak. I think for the health of competition, big money tournaments and general activity that Voobly must be prioritized over ANYTHING and ANYONE.

That doesn't mean you should get tossed aside, the contrary actually!

Obviously time is money, and if you want to get paid to do commentating (future pewdiepie??) than thats a legitimate goal IMO.

Then perhaps you should contact Voobly, or Elusive and try to establish some sort of partnership. Perhaps they could advertise your Channel on Voobly (they certainly have quite a bit of marketing tools available), and perhaps you could also get part of the profits as well while you stream on Voobly's Official Channel. Some sort of third party provider if it makes any sense..

Seeing as everything is posted on AoCZone as well, I'm surprised you don't have your own little space on this website (some may say its not ethical, but seeing as you are a commentating star, than you get privilege that others do not).

Nonsensical hasn't been streaming or playing aoc for long so of course there is room for improvement.. she definitely doesn't deserve such a comment.
Also Nonsensical can translate chinese which is great as there are a lot of 2k chinese games but i guess there is no way of pleasing everyone !

Is there a space on aoc zone where stream viewers can provide constructive criticism or suggestions to enhance the voobly offical stream quality/ viewer experience?

Zak gets more viewers streaming noobish aoc hd games, than Katsuni & Co streaming 2k+ games. He also has more followers on twitch and he doesn't miss out anything while streaming. Zac has been "keeping aoc alive" a year or 2 before this sponsor even came into our weird lil world...but you won't know that since you only joined last year...

Before Zac came along, there was really a lack of content and he kept providing it at an amazing rate for a long time (he doesn't go quite as hard now, but still good)

Zac doesn't have $10,000's of dollars to put into aoc, he is a university student and instead puts his time into aoc. I can imagine he has spent 1000's of hours between editing, doing streams, organizing tourneys and doing write ups. Ppl can contribute to aoc with more than money you know

As many have mentioned, ppl enjoy watching zac, I'm sure he would have matched Voobly official channel viewers if he were allowed to stream it, letting it reach a larger audience. Who is to say he wouldn't host another OOS tourney with the few dollars he would get from streaming.
But to have all this insanity over a few ad $, when we have a sponsor who is giving beyond enough to not only sustain but grow the community (mixed with community effort ofc)...have we really become so petty?

The lesson that should be learned from all of this is, it is wiser and more professional (or business like) to conduct these matters in private.
And to except current decisions while continuing to negotiate for future events, again in private, between the parties involved.
After all this is the internet, where intelligent comments are like the rarest of jewels.
