OnlyBans 1v1 Tournament Announcement

What will you do when you have no choices, no freedom, but OnlyBans? We'll find out during what is sure to be an exciting and unpredictable tournament! Players will not be allowed to select their maps or civilizations at any point during the entire tournament, only ban them! This new tournament format will force a wide mix of unique map and civ combinations and will push players out of the meta, and out of their comfort zones.

Format:

1v1 32 player Single Elimination Tournament
The top 28 players will be seeded; the final 4 spots will be determined through open elo qualifiers; the series length and format of which will be determined by the quantity of signups.

Semi/Finals: April 29th-May1st

Before the start of every series, players will ban maps and civilizations, then a random map will be drawn from the remaining pool, and random civilizations will be drawn from the remaining pool for each player before each game. All bans are global. This will be accomplished via captains mode pre-set drafts. If players ban the same map or civilization they do not get to re-pick once bans are revealed.

Before each game (including game 1) players are allowed to use "InstaBans." Instabans are like a hidden snipe, you can use an Instaban on either your or your opponent's civ, and the civ will be removed for the rest of the set, so you essentially get a reroll of your civ/your opponent's civ.

Best of 3: Players get 3 map bans, 3 civ bans and 1 Instaban
Best of 5: Players get 3 map bans, 5 civ bans and 1 Instaban
Best of 7: Players get 3 map bans, 7 civ bans and 2 Instabans

I suppose it works like if we both have done our drafts etc and you pick to start the game with , let's say Goths, I can activate my instaban and you have to pick something else + goths are banned for rest of the tournament

I think I'd still favour a more precise wording. With the current wording, it implies stragglers may never be deleted, regardless of location (e.g. straggler hopping).
