This is one of those unfortunate situations where nobody has done anything wrong and yet everything has gone to **** somehow.
I don't think anyone can specifically point to anything that MBL has done wrong. If laming was not allowed, it would have been expressly banned as has been the case in other tournaments. You play to win. Boar laming is not OP (even the way MBL did it this time - basically playing dark age a vil down) and there are ways to recover from that.
As for Tatoh, maybe he went into this thinking that these were going to be chill games. Sure it's not fair to hold the opponent answerable to your expectations about how to play a certain set, but he still sort of has a point; it's just AOElympics. He got tilted understandably, but he still conducted himself with dignity as he always does, said gg and moved on.
Can't fault the Tatoh fans who went to MBL's chat either. Tatoh is one of the nicest pros in the community and I can imagine that the perception of him being 'bullied' (for lack of a better term) is viscerally offensive to some people's sensibilities. Folks went to vent and defend their guy. That's understandable also.
It is what it is I guess. I'm sure Tatoh will get over it being the sincerely awesome guy he is, and also people will learn to take MBL's shenanigans as the harmless fun they are intended to be.

Easy for Norway, like always#GoNorway!
Gotta hand it to Mr.Memeluke this time. He truly overdid it with the title + holding back on the information, causing a spark in peoples curiousity and thirst for drama.
@Modri I'd be curious to hear what the voice of reasoning would have to say about this.
People like Mbl are the reason why all Esports end up with toxic communities if you let them grow enough. Yes, lamming were not banned in this tournament but we all know that this game, like almost every competitive game, has its own honor codes, specially in rated games or small tournaments like this, where people were playing mainly for fun.
In life, you can act with honor or you can act like some guy who throws sand into the eyes of an oponent or begs for mercy to distract the other guy and then stabs him in the back. Mbl knows people are trying to be honorable and he just wants to take advantage of that. Why does he not make clear in chat that he will be laming during the game? Just because he wants to take advantage of the good faith of the other player. That's the reason why this behaviour is so disgusting to me. Because it is coward and unfaithful.
Honestly, Mbl could win the series just playing normal. He can beat tatoh for sure but he just wanted to be an a****** to him because they don't get along well (for many years). On the other hand, Tatoh just wanted to play some good games. That is the big difference.
