Stop responding to him. He does not deserve your attention until he show some small indication he wants to engage in a constructive conversation rather than argue and fight.-People believe some mechanics are "flawed" and are finding ways to fix it
-You keep using slippery slope and exaggerating ****
-You are logically inconsistent. In front of a lower rated player, you are correct becoz you are higher rated. Yet in front of higher rated players (DarkNoob / Modri / Zuppi / Viper), your opinion is righteous regardless of your elo.
holy **** where is this rec at ? 11Some people seem to think that getting lamed is a death sentence, but I must remind you of a game where BMyers with 0 boars as Mongols easily defeated Edie with 4 boars as Mayans. Don't give up so easily and sometimes you might just embarrass your opponents instead.
You wouldn't make walls if your life depended on it 11Few would argue against army building in a game of conquest. Especially in favor of walls.
I did not watch too much of kotd. But the Jordan vs Daniel set - Game3. This was decided in Minute 2, after daniel found the rhino with his forward vil.Hey everyone remember when this thread was like "laming is so easy/without risk even 900 rating is expert at it, must nerf/ban because it's automatic, too much RNG ez ruins my drush/m@a/scrush meta" and then in KOTD R064 we watched pro players consistently fail to lame and have it cost them games or put them behind?
You are one of those guys calling "gg" in twitch chat when one of the players accidentally takes two sheep simultaneously in Dark Age, right?I did not watch too much of kotd. But the Jordan vs Daniel set - Game3. This was decided in Minute 2, after daniel found the rhino with his forward vil.
Ah, the "Secret/GL effect," I pointed out earlier.I did not watch too much of kotd. But the Jordan vs Daniel set - Game3. This was decided in Minute 2, after daniel found the rhino with his forward vil.
I'm not convinced yet that laming on the professional level is highly risky. In many cases, e.g. bugum match x, lamer went for extra risky lame (with tunnel vision, with the idea that he went forward so he may as well steal the boar even if it's a back boar for the opponent). Believe it or not, at least in my recollection this is the only tournament with laming allowed which has resulted in lamers overall getting punished more than being rewarded.Eh, I'd just prefer in an RTS there be more strategic options and considerations rather than fewer.
Far more entertaining watching a player succeed or failing to lame and watching them overcome or build upon their strategic choice (or fail to), and I think the fact that something is as controversial is positive for the community. Much more entertaining and engaging than arguing whose DRush was better, or whose palisades were more prettily placed after all -- and certainly an interesting option against players who are better standard macro/APM players -- or prone to tilting.
Just happy to see that there are perfect examples in KOTD3 that laming is not automatic, nor even if successful game-ending -- and that high level players have not won games alone on laming, but have certainly lost games failing to lame and failing to scout their sheep, exhibiting the risk involved presently.
Nah, he lost the forward vill with which he was laming so at least that one was related. And even if it is unrelated I think the argumentation is more that the laming does not decide the game.Daniel games -- you mention he lost villagers to scouts, this is unrelated to laming as it's a few minutes later in the game!
When the player getting lamed plays as chinese and he loses one boar and 2 sheep it kinda is gg.Nah, he lost the forward vill with which he was laming so at least that one was related. And even if it is unrelated I think the argumentation is more that the laming does not decide the game.
Again: I don't explicitly speak in favour of laming and I trust players criticizing the "wrong" risk/reward ratio. But when people claim that sacrificing a villager for killing a boar is still insta gg for the player being lamed, it gets simply ridiculous.
Only one person here argueing against that fact. 11At this point of the discussion, we're losing track of the fact that this stuff is highly RNG based.
