Pat yourselves on the back, fellow beta testers. One year later, we're almost there.
Beta testers is being too kind man. This is still in early alpha.

Hmmm I think this has been there since the release of DE.Is it just me or did the accidentally add this in the Hotfix?

@AgentGrass I don't understand your reaction. It is reasonable to say that any "definitive" remaster of a classic game is still in alpha if it does not have the ability for users to restore the original graphics if they do not like the "remastered" ones, particularly when the individuals responsible for the "remasters" were not the ones who made the originals.
Said game is an improvement over the original in most areas.
Said game could definitely use some work.
Said suggestion for improvement of game is really not a necessary thing.
Above observations should qualify the game for being in the beta phase, at least.
Having said that, 'beta' is still an insult to the game in my eyes but at least that is closer to the truth than alpha.
It is not an insult to the game because it is true. This is a product that was marketed as a "definitive edition" remaster of a beloved RTS classic. Giving players the opportunity to restore the original graphics is essential because graphics are a core part of the game's playability and it is not reasonable to expect that all people will be satisfied with the updated set, even when it is the same team as worked on the originals. A product missing such major functionality cannot be considered in anything but alpha - no amount of small-scale improvements on the original can compensate for lacking something so crucial. The only insult is that this pile of garbage was the best Microsoft could come up with for a re-re-release that was, at least implicitly, meant to atone for the similarly inadequate re-release that preceded it.
Genuinely just curious, I don't actually think I know a single remaster of a game where you have acces to original graphics. Why do you think this is such a core part of a remaster? Other industry examples really don't provide this service so why do you expect from FE to do this? (I don't oppose it or anything but it doesn't seem all that crucial to me either.)
I don't think it's crucial but it'd certainly be nice because me and my half-blind eyes personally prefer graphics where I can clearly distinguish units without looking twice.
That being said what I do think is crucial is the ability of a "definitive edition" to watch recs/play custom scenarios from any older version. I really thought they would do this and was hoping so badly to play some old old custom scenarios on DE. Alas we cannot even watch recs from 2 months ago (what a ripoff).

who the hell cares about graphics?
If you want to bash the game, bash it for good reasons at least, like the pathfinding and the performance issues.
Making such a strong point about such a trivial issue is so moronic
I have a question regarding the November update:
Have they changed the "preferred map" option (or did they give it less "power"?)
Choosing Arabia as preferred map before the update would give me Arabia ~80% of the time. Today i have played for the first time since the update and i got different maps than Arabia eight out of ten times. Was there a change?
