I dont really care. He burned bridges and when he found out the grass on the other side isn't greener, he went back as nothing happened. I rather support people who stayed true to the real game instead chasing a hype that was doomed from the start. Not to mention the comments while doing that.
And to be honest, he lacks the skill to the top players. GL guys took him for his connections and friendship.

Microsoft giving money for promoting their new product is completly understandable. It was just a worse 6 months for game with 20 years history. I don't remember trashing AoE2 by Nilli. But maybe I need to follow more aoezone dramas and a hundred pages threads like "Current Situation on Aoe4 and Aoe2" to know how bad and wicked person he is.

Also I'm sure if anyone else was the tournament coordinator the situation in tournament founding would be exactly the same. Microsoft is giving money, not Nilli. He is just a good, familiar face you can hate instead of hating some microsoft random guy.

It is the right decision. I was not a fan of the double role, no matter who held it. Since we don't know exactly who made what decisions either way, it's pointless to assign blame.
In my opinion, this job should never have been given to a player/tournament host.
I hope that Microsoft will find someone who is motivated, knows the scene and is not caught up in the same dilemma as nili. ( yeah not gonna be easy)
I wish Nili that he has fun with streaming. I actually like his stream, but when I looked at him in the last few months, it always seemed a bit cramped. After all, many viewers and new AoE2 tournaments are always good for the community.

You're spreading wrong information. It was Microsoft who told Nili that he has to stop competing or won't be allowed to work anymore because of conflict of interest. Nili always wanted to do both, realizing the conflict of interest but not caring about it. In the end he wanted to keep competing so he resigned from his job at Microsoft.

you dont remember trashing?? there are at least 2 times that i remember. i already do a list in the current situation with the proofs and everything, that no one could denied.

he can do what he wants. and i know people can change. but what happened with the statement: aoe4 is the future, i dont see aoe2 future bright, aoe4 is better game. now he goes back to aoe2 because aoe4 is sinking fast. like i have already said, he made a gamble, and he lost. the most important thing, he lost his word, and credibility, and he must work really hard to be at the same level as before.

to resume, wish him luck, i will not watch him. also i dont think he has the level to be where he wants to be. but anything can be posible

Nili has been and will keep being a positive force in the community, we're lucky to have him. I especially treasure the NAC1-3 and (if I recall correctly) he financed the first out of his own pocket? Legend.

NOW - I also agree it wasn't the best to have a player AND tournament host at the same time being who assigned the $. Good call from Microsoft to put limits to that.

Moving forward, wish him all the best in his grind. Hopefully he keeps the motivation

i am happy for this decisen. there was to much interest of conflict becos he was streamer and player and tournament cordinator.
for my self i found piece with nili. i wish nili great suckcess with tournaments. if he gos full try hard 2x round 16 is not that unrealistic to be honest.
nili is one of the most important person in aoe2 universe. he is around sinse the very beginning and hosted many big tournaments. normally we shood all love him but sometimes he makes it hard for us to actelly love him. but now i love him again.
