Today Nili announced that NAC4 is now N4C, and will be a $100K prizepool AoE4 LAN.

DeMuslim and Viper automatically invited for winning an S-Tier AoE4 tourney, and 6 will qualify.

Did he give a date? I'm presuming that gives the developers a strong incentive to deal with issues with the game. I'm not a zealot...if they make AOE4 as good as AOE2 I'll be happy. Albeit I've got more than 20 years of AOE2 under my belt so it's my true love

Nili explains that if he allowed another invite for the 3rd S-tier AoE4 tourney, it would make the qualifiers "uneven" but that he will likely organize "at least 1" AoE2 tourney this year

MS/FE allowed Nili to continue his Tournament organiser / streaming / player career so i don' t know if his job should prevent him getting price pools, espicially when he is not most likely one responsible to give moeny for himself

I don't think that's the smartest move ever and it's likely going to bring so much drama and negativity.
1) MS sponsors 100k tournament (biggest MS sponsorship since 2001?) and it's the tournament baby of the people in charge of MS funds. Doesn't seem like a clash of interests at all.

2) Without choosing either game, all numbers are showing 1 thing - AoE IV is declining and it's already behind AoE II regarding viewers/players. So the solution is to drop extremelly huge prize pool for few players that qualify? I hope it's going to be at least 20k from the prize pool used for the players who won't qualify. Still wouldn't see the point why 8 players have to fight for 80k prize pool, but whatever.

3) Nili has a big say in handling MS funds. There's 100k. Do you know how many and which tournaments this could bring? Instead, it's all spent on N4C.. Awesome. So the tournaments featuring many top players like MoS 2 will stay community funded forever, when 1k would help a lot there. As MS spent 100k on AoE IV event.

4) I don't know about tournament calendar, as apparently very simple feature is taking 6 months for now. However, oGN is doing amazing job in the french community, he organized European Rumble, this year World Rumble. And you make N4C just at the same time as the Final weekend of his. Lovely.

I can't disclose the direct source where I know this from, I can tell you Red Bull paid the production, World Edge the Prize pool.
