AOE-II DE New game mode - Full Blind mode

Hello,

An idea came another day to my mind.

1) you don't see enemy civ (even when you scout and see building - it doesn't show civ)
2) you don't see points
3) you don't see when someone advances

What do you think?

1) Not being able to see enemy civs would severely limit your ability to act strategically. For example, knowing if a civ has halb or not is a big reason to commit to cav. Castle positioning on closed maps is dependent on whether they get BBC. You would never go infantry against a strong hand cannon civ.
1a) You would also need to make all the architecture and unit skins the same, which just feels boring
2) Hiding score is fine. Think this is a perfectly reasonable change for standard RM
3) Not seeing when someone advances also limits your ability to plan strategy

Well I disagree with seeing player advanced, technically there always been people trading or having spies, to it kind of makes sense. Though seeing points I can completely understand why some people would want it hidden. Though at this point I feel it's kind of aoe2 identity. Sometimes it makes no sense, but at same time it helps to not prolong games too much if you see you are 3k score vs 5k, you know you are dead. However as I said, I can completely understand that when score indicates 1 tc FI it might be too much information given.

I agree with this, 100% supportive of getting rid of the notification. I thought OP meant that you wouldn't be able to even scout what age someone was in (similar to his suggestion on blinding the civ)

Hasn't there been a tournament a while ago that had hidden scores? I may confuse it with the symmetrical maps, which I know Memb has hosted one time and I think noone loved the settings, but I seem to remember a separate tournament that had hidden scores.
I also can't remember the reception of how people felt about the settings (if it happened at all 11).

Personally, I think it would be very nice to see how hidden scores would work. I feel like it would "buff" scouting a little, or hopefully we at least see a change in the eternal deer pushing in dark age atm. Not seeing people age up would be nice as well, but it can be very dangerous in maps like arena where you can't see in which age your opponent is if they hide their buildings, and I think that might be a little too far since it's then impossible to adapt to certain strategies (trush, or fast imp, for instance).
