So I just finished watching the new trailer for the Indian Civs, seems pretty cool. I think the Feudal camels are going to totally change the meta and I can't wait to see how it plays out. I do wonder though is scouts were the Feudal unit that needed and indirect nerf, I hope they address the archer into xbow spike next patch.

i think its interesting how gujaras can garrison livestock for food production

they had that for all civs in star wars galactic battlegrounds and i thought it was cool concept

wow!! Indians(Hindustani) have been so heavily nerfed. Their UU better be damn good otherwise they will lag behind. Losing Parthian and Elephant archer is very bad. They had mediocre infantry, now the range is mediocre too.

They all look strong on water maps / potentially on Hybrid maps. Some absolutely tragic stables. Look potentially busted on Water maps / Black Forest but otherwise pretty Meh on open maps

I think that's rather lame and silly, why the civ that originally had ele archer as UU now lose access to it, even losing Parthian Tactics, despite being labelled as cav archer civ XD.

Give them time, they will recover all...

Unique Units
  • Chakram Thrower – Gurjara unique infantry unit with ranged melee attack. Strong vs. infantry. Weak vs. archers and siege weapons.
  • Shrivamsha Rider – Gurjara unique light cavalry unit which can dodge projectiles. Strong vs. archers. Weak vs. Pikemen and Camel Riders.
  • Camel Scout – Gurjara unique scout unit. Strong vs. cavalry. Weak vs. Pikemen, Monks, and archers.
  • Armored Elephant – Anti-building cavalry unit. Resistant to most ranged attacks. Weak vs. melee units. Cannot be converted by enemy Monks from distance.
I dont know if i should laugh or cry

If your Indians were labelled a Cavalry Archer civ then that's because of a mod you have installed.
The Indians also didn't represent purely the Hindustanis, so it makes sense they see changes.

All civs who have those, don't have rams, right? So differences could be cost/movement speed/hp/attack/armour, but it's rather a replacement than an additional unit.

Looks nice. Campaigns in last expansion were excellent, so I'm looking forward new campaigns. And these new Indian civs add variety outside of Europe.

honestly, all of them look interesting, if a bit too different from the usual civ. But honestly, they seem way better than rise of the dukes and lords of the west.

I would really like to play them soon

Looks really cool

I'm a bit sad to lose the old Indians, as I think they were pretty cool gameplay wise. But Hindustanis might be interesting as well. 25% faster attacking Imperial Camels sound pretty strong tbh. We will see how that plays out. CA should still be good enough as a support unit. Surely not the civ I'm mist thrilled about, but I wouldn't write them off before testing.

Pretty curious about this one. Does anyone have a guess as to what this will mean exactly? Seems odd since cavalry can of course already dodge projectiles.

Judging by the tech tree position, it looks like the Caravanserai will be a Wonder-like building that gives a passive bonus?
Awesome buffs to their gunpowder units. Now they really are a true gunpowder civ.

Honestly looking like **** on 1v1 land maps. All of them except Indians ( now Hindustanis).

The only decent one seems to be Indians.
Indians (Hindustanis) lost elephant archers and parthian tactics. Lmfao.
But their cav still seems to be all right, which is a relief.
Hindustanis, no ele archer, no ele rider. Only elephant unit is their ram 1111111

Bengalis, archer civ without thumb ring. 11

I hope the "elephant ram" if worth it

I dunno, man, that Dravidian wood bonus seems really strong. 200 free wood on reaching Feudal and Castle especially seems like it could power all sorts of all-ins.

I think the idea for hindustan was that vs cav civs u have their camels, vs archer their unique unit which is decribed as mix of skirm and scorpion and vs eagles their shitagni hand cannoners but what if i want to make units that opponents have to counter and not the other way? Thats disappoiting.

I see more and more potential for civ wins with the new dlc.

tbh their HC got a noticable buff with extra melee/pierce armor, and shatagni now gives +2 range. thats pretty solid. also camels attacking 25% faster and now getting plate barding, instead of the +1p in castle & imp is a nice boost too, and should make them really tough to deal with as well. i feel they will be tougher to counter than you think

Practically Unusable stable means the only viable option is foot archer. No real counter to skirms + mangos

You finish in feudal, or you get rekt.

Dravidians are cruising to be the weakest land civ ever, especially in late game.

I dont think its even possible to make new good civs. but in that case making them anyways is just greedy short term thinking.
Its pretty much the equivalent of patching a game to death

Their cav got buffed for the imp, but weaker in castle age. Maybe it will balance out, lets see

HCs are barely viable, except in niche situations.
Even with the armour and +2 range, they die hard to heavy cav, skirms and archers.

Regardless, Hindustanis look all right. The only decent civ amongst the all 4 new civs IMO
