Multiplayer Lobby Host Color Bug

Hi, I've looked through the official forum and saw quite a few people mentioning this bug, but sadly it's neither on list of known issues nor provided a fix. The dev team apparently could not replicate the bug since it only happens to some specific players (interestingly, using another account to play on the same computer does not have this problem, so it's likely tied to player profile). Reinstalling or deleting profile files does not work and I do not have any mods on.

So basically, the bug goes as follow: Lobby Host will be Blue / Green regardless of what color is selected in the lobby.

The AI is just for demonstration, and the bug happens no matter if there are AI players or not. This is not a visual bug as other players would also see two players in blue.

Also interestingly, I turned on team position and I was placed in the flank despite being the 5th player, while the opposing team has correct team positions. So something must have been overridden and somehow that affects all players.

Posting here to see if anyone has any clue to how to fix it. Thanks a lot :D

Does it happen when you have even versus odd? This is unusual if you select 4,5,6 for your team. Typically it's 1,3,5 versus 4,5,6. Personally I've never encountered this bug so hopefully this works until/if devs fix it

Yes, I'm blue regardless of what number player I am.

Also the team composition of players are just for illustration. In real multiplayer lobby everyone kinda pick their own color and go random team 11

Does turning Team colours (Alt + G) on then off again resolve it?

I'm somewhat convinced it's not just your color that matters though. You might try telling people to go 1,3,5 vs 2,4,6. Or perhaps I'll try it myself. I've had all random colors or 1,3,5,7 vs 2,4,6,8 and never encountered this error. Doesn't matter if I myself picked the color 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, or ?. Either way it must be annoying to have, but I guess doing Team Colors would be another workaround (Alt+G) that doesn't seem too bad
Edit: I'm guessing this problem only started once they added the functionality to pick your position by selecting your color.

Sadly, no. Team colours works fine but I always find it hard to play with.

The problem actually happens in 1v1 (hosted via multiplayer lobby) too, you can have an all blue brawl with your friend.

Actually they should consider making an April Fool's mode for this, it's gonna be chaotic 11

The thing about the problem is signing in another steam account to host multiplayer lobby on the exact same computer doesn't have the problem, which is why I guess the problem is so hard to troubleshoot, because it seems like the cause is not related to any of the game files or mechanics.

In the only debug team response from the AoE official forum, they asked for steam profile files, and sadly never heard from them on this issue again.
