@archxeon Why you angry on me?
2 players (Nicov and Dogao) knew the rules about DM and then they salty about settings...
Why the hell you take other's spot??? It's all about money, money, money, right?
Ok your first post was very dumb so I decided to ignore it, but this one is worth a reply. I have never liked DM games merged in RM tournaments (such as War is Coming back in 2015 which was the only big let down I can remember in that tournament) because they are two completely different things. I'm all good with a DM only tournament and I might even sign up for it.
I didn't want it in this tournament but it was obviously not my choice and I was not going to step out when I had the chance to gain some prize so I just played it and practiced a lot of DM with several players.
My 3-2 vs Yo was lame because we were tied up 2-2 in RM and the entire serie was sorted out with a silly 10mins DM game (whose civs are not even mirrored). Imagine if Yo had had another bad set and had been eliminated in swiss stage due to this.
Same my match vs Tatoh, which was 2-2 prior to it and the next game had to be something that RM players are not supposed to play then I was down 2-3 double match point.
What about Lierey and Villese? The DM was entertaining, yes, but the RM games were much better with a lot of strategies involved (something that DM strongly lacks since its all about speed and map control). We missed a potential 5 RM game to decide the best player in that match up.
I could keep listing DM games that ruined series for me, but it's redundant.
And yes, tournaments are all about money and prestige. Try to host a tournament without prize pool and i'd be very surprised if it had more than a couple of top players taking part on it.
Have we seen good DM matchs in this tournaments? Of course. Should they take part on RM tournaments? I disagree.
Besides this little offtopic I want to say that this has been and amazing tournament and memb proved himself to be one of the best at organizing stuff when everyone else (including myself) was very skeptical due to the nature of the maps. I think a few mangrove maps could be included in future tournaments (with its balance) though I found towers, longboats, turtle ships and castle/imperial age demolition ships way too powerful. Also the caravels were stronger than in standard maps (they dealt much more damage to fireships than in normal WK).
Also I think there should always be at least one restart in every match. Hera's map in the first game vs Tatoh comes up to my mind but there were some other games that were worth a RE. But I guess it was the sponsor choice and not memb's.
Hopefully we get to play another big, fun tournament like this soon this year. Cheers.
