Picking someone 300 rating points higher (aka a higher 1v1 level), someone that didn't lose to F1re, someone with better scheduling / availability over someone that went 1 round further because he lucked into China vs Franks on water in the decider of his R2 match. That's my backup plan. I understand why you wouldn't agree with it but I don't think it's hard to "get".

In my opinion you should NOT look into the 1v1 rate. ACCM does not play a lot of 1v1s (or he smurfs, also viable possibility). He got trough 1 round further.
Civluck is part of the settings the sponser decided, the player involved canNOT do anything about it, but he gets punished for it by not getting considered for this. I understand your decision in some sort. Those two names are more known and rise more often then ACCM. But once again, I feel like you don't respect ACCM as a top player. He has also achieved great things within AOC.

Nevertheless, still want to mention that you run your tournaments great. For me, this is only a small little downside to some great event you hosted.

Why would you ask the sponsor/s to justify what I decided?
Both have been amazing and did the respectful thing and totally kept out of any admin work. You and others challenging them in this topic is completely inappropriate.

swissboyy for P3 is my favorite solution so far. Damages for pain and suffering caused by people calling me swissboy. Also, really fair since none of the noobs that lost games get an undeserved second chance in the tournament... :shifty:

I am not challenging them at all. I am just very curious about what they think. I think it is a good thing they left it up to you, but I think it is a very good thing for them to evaluate your decision. If this happens in private so be it, but they should do that. I think some sort of feedback (espec from the guys who sponsor) should happen so they get the perfect tournament. That way we can hope they keep sponsoring things.

Your explanation is NOT enough of a reason to leave him out (for me). I think you should look at his performance in this tournament, not to his rating. Ratings tend to lie quite a lot.

Tbh, its a shame you are an admin. I have never hosted but donated quite a bit and would be ashamed by this opinion that ACCm lucked into next round. You should be as neutral as you can be. How can you say ACCM lucked into the next round. Its megarandom. And still players need to win those games, they are not handed to them. This is the most disrespectful opinion I have ever heard of any admin. At least be respectful.

A backup plan would have been a clear rule that says who replaces whom if someone cannot play further. And thats not the case. If you hd those rules before the tourney started, there would be less discussion and controversy.

I don't think it's a good thing when people start to blame them for things they didn't do or demand explanations for decision that they didn't take.

I didn't say ACCM lucked into the next round, I said he lucked into a great civilization for the map at hand. That's why him advancing isn't the end all be all for me in this debate.

There is a clear and common rule for the situation at hand: Admin win mentalist.
Instead of doing that I created a spin-off based on invited players so viewers could enjoy more instead of less games.
mentalist is the one that should be complaining because he didn't get his free win.

I guess the perfect decision (in the sense that no one would have any right to complain) would have been to give a forfeit win. I also think that saying that ACCM "lucked" is an unfortunate choice of words, and it would have been best to just omit it. As an admin I would just do one post containg some reasonable argument (like he did), and then no longer reply. There are always people that want to argue, no matter what you do.

Once again , I know thjey have nothing to do with it and I do NOT blame them, neither do I blame you. I just dont agree.

If you would have considered tournament performance in a serious way, he would have advanced. He got further in the tourny and didnt get a second chance unlike others, I do not see the logic in that.

You are right, I worded it poorly.
I do however think giving context to tournament results is important if you want to use them as an argument in an honest discussion, especially for an event like MoMR. Like Skittle said: "fun tournament decided mostly by civ/mapluck".

Personally, I think that would of been a better idea, Don't just hate, appreciate mate. Btw, well done swissboy on running a good tourniment.
