Basically, they are making an async call with onkeyup event. If you write so quickly probably async call cannot be made, either they do it intentionally to prevent sending multiple calls to server in a very short period, or they are already making multiple calls and server rejects as precaution or their framework cannot handle etc. etc.
Shouldn't be a big deal though, if one of my developers estimates more than a day for such issue in sprint planning, I wouldn't be happy as their lead.
