Tournament Rules
Seeding / Spot in the tournament
All players that sign up for the tournament will be given a tournament rating using a combination of their current and highest achieved 1v1 RM rating the moment the sign ups close. Therefore it's essential to sign up with not only your best known but also highest rated 1v1 account.
After the deadline has passed the 64 highest rated players will be granted a spot in the tournament and will be seeded using the same system. If you want to improve your seeding position or chances of making it into the event, improve your 1v1 RM rating.
Scheduling:
Every round will last 1 week, meaning each player has 1 week to schedule and play the games before the deadline of the round which is Monday 23:59 GMT. You are encouraged to provide your best times and schedule as efficient as possible throughout the whole week in order to get the games played in time.
The staff will be very strict regarding scheduling, and difficulties might end up in Admin Times or Admin Wins.
Once you and your opponent confirmed a time to play in the Scheduling Forum, the maximum waiting time is 30 minutes. More than that, the player that came and is waiting must take a screenshot showing the World Time Server (so the current time is clearly visible) and Tournament Lobby Game Room, and post the screenshot in the Admin Decisions / Requests topic, with a link to the post in the Scheduling forums where the game time was arranged and confirmed.
Recorded Games
All matches must be recorded and played on the VCOM Ladder. During the Group Stage, the winner has to upload the recs in the recorded games section
For the single elimination, the tournament admin will post the recorded games in the sub forum linked above.
Game packs might include fake recorded games to stop potential spoilers from the number of files.
Streaming / Spectating
Anybody is welcome to cast, analyse or watch any game of the tournament if both players accept them. Keep in mind that spectating is a privilege, not a right. Act accordingly.
The players can request for a delay of up to 4:00 minutes and no spectators, but no player will be allowed to refuse the presence of an official streamer who has identified himself as such AND is LIVE on Twitch or any other streaming platform.
Restarts
In a Best of 3 each player is awarded one restart.
In a Best of 5 each player is awarded two restarts.
In a Best of 7 each player is awarded two restarts
In a Best of 9 each player is awarded three restarts
A restart must be requested after no longer than 4 minutes of game time. When a game is restarted, the same civilization must be used again.
Communicating with spectators / stream viewers
You must not communicate with any spectator or stream viewer while playing. It's your responsibility as a player to make sure you don't get any outside information while playing, however insignificant (you think) that information might be.
If a spectator / stream viewer messages you, the player, while you are in the game, it's your responsibility to immediately pause and put yourself on "DO NOT DISTURB" / block the person.
Players are not allowed to stream tournament games from their own point of view.
Map Bugs
If any of your starting resources (1x 7gold, 2x 4 gold, 1x 5stone, 1x 4stone, 2x boar, 3-4 deer, 8x sheep) are trapped by trees (less than 50% of the surface area accessible) or missing the map is considered bugged and you can ask for an admin restart before - and only before - the 8 minute.
If the walls of both players are crossing each other, you have to go for an admin re.
Dropping
Dropped games need to be restored.
Third Party Tools
The use of any third party tool is prohibited. Examples are, but not limited to: Modified game files, syncers, crashers, network throttling devices (purposely lagging programs), and other such tools. Violation of this rule will not only result in disqualification from tournament, but termination/punishment as the Voobly staff team seems fit.
Accounts / Smurfing
You may only enter and play the tournament with your best and highest rated account. Failure to follow this rule will result in disqualification of all involved accounts.
Misc
Any rule can be added/modified at any time as seen fit by a tournament mod. If anything is removed, added or changed, there will be a note at the bottom of the post and the latest change will be colored.
Behaviour
Every player must respect their opponent. Bad behavior (determined by staff) will result in a warning and may lead to an immediate disqualification. This tournament values not only great skills, but also sportsmanship and fairness. Any insult, racism or flaming will not be tolerated. Laming and mind games in game are allowed.
